Netflix’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Sets Final Chapter With a Short Season 3
Case closed: Netflix will wrap A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder with a four-episode third and final season next year.
Well, that‗s a short run for you: Netflix is bringing its adaptation of Holly Jackson‗s A Good Girl‗s Guide to Murder to a swift end after just three seasons. If you thought this slick, twisty crime series would be camped out on your recommended feed for years, you‗re out of luck. It‗s not dragging things out—season three is already in the bag, it‗s only four episodes long, and that‗s your lot.
How Long? Blame the Books
The final season is basically a direct adaptation of the third book, As Good As Dead. And by 'season', we really mean a lean, four-episode goodbye. They‗ve finished filming, and the plan is to drop the ending in 2027—yes, you‗ll be waiting a bit unless you like to binge in real time.
Release: Depends Where You Live
Now for the slightly overcomplicated bit: where you see the show depends on your postcode. If you‗re in the UK, it‗s a BBC exclusive—iPlayer, BBC One, and BBC Three. Germans, Austrians, and the Swiss will find it via ZDFneo. Australians get it only on Stan, and in New Zealand it’s Sky NZ or nothing. Netflix handles everything else. Good luck keeping track, frankly.
Core Cast (Who‗s Still Standing):
- Emma Myers as Pippa 'Pip' Fitz-Amobi (yes, the same Emma who turned heads in Wednesday and the Minecraft movie that's still on the horizon)
- Zain Iqbal
- Henry Ashton
- Asha Banks
- Jude Morgan-Collie
- Eden H Davies
- Yali Topol Margalith
(If you‗re into British indie TV, you might recognise a few faces—see our chat with Yali for Alice and Steve, the anti-romantic comedy, if you want some extra trivia.)
Makers Get Sentimental
Series creator (and book author) Holly Jackson is actually thrilled to be finishing on her own terms. She had this to say:
Emma Myers, who plays Pip, is equally enthusiastic—maybe even a bit emotional about bowing out:
For the Bookish Types
If you‗re a stickler for reading before watching—join the club. The A Good Girl‗s Guide novels have a following, and the third book seems to have delivered enough drama to justify this short final lap. Admittedly, the series not getting dragged out forever is a refreshing change, even if a few fans might wish it stuck around for longer.
