Netflix just renewed its breakout hit Nemesis for a bigger, bolder season 2
Netflix has fast-tracked a second season of Nemesis, renewing the crime drama just a month after its May 14 premiere and teasing an even bigger, bolder return. The hit series comes from creators Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole.
If you blinked, you might have missed the fastest renewal of the year. Netflix has wasted precisely zero time: 'Nemesis', that glossy crime thriller they dropped a month ago, is already locked in for a second season. Yes, I know, it only just landed on 14 May 2026. Mark your calendars, not that there’s an airdate yet.
A Tale of Two Blokes – Across the Law
The elevator pitch for 'Nemesis' is simple: think of two men, on totally different sides of the law, destined to repeatedly ruin each other’s day. Coltrane Wilder, a proper smooth-talking criminal, is played by Y'lan Noel. Facing him across the moral abyss is Matthew Law's Isaiah Stiles, a detective with the sort of sharp instincts you’d rather not bump into in a dark alley—or anywhere, really.
If you’re after gritty action, tense cat-and-mouse, and plenty of personal baggage, you’ll find all the fixings here. But the series reckons it digs a bit deeper than your standard ‘cops v robbers’ fare, promising to chew over family, marriage, and what actually drives a person—so, not just car chases and moody lighting.
Netflix Gives the Nod, Creators Get Excited
The ink’s barely dry on the Season 2 contract. Co-creator and executive producer Tani Morale couldn’t wait to tease what’s next. Here’s his official word:
"Season two, we're very grateful to have it… We're going to make sure those questions get answered — and even more questions are available for you to answer… Make no mistakes, season two is going to be bigger and better."
So it’s more of the same – but, allegedly, ‘bigger’. Make of that what you will.
Behind the scenes, Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Morale are running the ship, with Chris Selak and Philipp Barnett joining them on executive producer duties.

How’s It Doing?
‘Nemesis’ has kicked off with a pretty healthy critical response, clocking in at 76% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not bad for a first outing—definitely above Netflix’s usual ‘throw it at the wall and see who notices’ approach.
As for when Season 2 hits, Netflix is keeping that detail under wraps. Annoying, yes, but hardly surprising.
