Marvel's Next Daredevil Chapter Leads a Big Week of Disney+ Premieres
Disney+ packs its May 11–17 slate with Marvel’s The Punisher: One Last Kill, a Daredevil: Born Again follow-up that brings Frank Castle back after his prison break under director Reinaldo Marcus Green, plus more fresh movies and shows all week.
If you thought Disney+ was going to take a breather after dumping a tidal wave of superhero content this spring, sorry, not a chance. This week in May is especially busy if you’re into capes, antiheroes, or, in the case of 'The Punisher: One Last Kill', a guy with zero chill when it comes to revenge.
Here’s what’s going down: Marvel’s most morally complicated vigilante, Frank Castle (aka The Punisher, and still played by Jon Bernthal, who basically sweats rage), is getting his own Marvel Television Special. And if you last saw Frank running from prison in 'Daredevil: Born Again', well… buckle up for what Disney is calling his 'One Last Kill'. Spoiler: He’s supposedly off the revenge treadmill, but—because it’s Frank Castle—life has other plans and plenty of bullets.
The Setup: Frank Might Be Ready for Peace (But We Know Better)
This TV special is helmed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and pulls major inspiration from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s famously unvarnished comic run, 'Welcome Back, Frank'. They’re not soft-pedaling Castle here, either. Jon Bernthal described the source material as not trying to make Frank a hero, but finding his truth "in the sordid dust of desperation and anger." So, don’t expect Disney+ to turn him into a friendly neighborhood anything.
"That honesty was my north star when writing and producing Marvel Television’s upcoming Punisher special. Ennis and Steve Dillon gave us a character with clarity of purpose and absolute commitment, someone who channels loss into action with brutal honesty." — Jon Bernthal
In other words, if you come here looking for Marvel comfort food, you’ll leave hungrier than when you started. This is Frank Castle at his most broken, maybe a tiny bit reflective, but still more likely to solve problems with a shotgun than an inspirational talk.
When & What to Watch: The Week’s Disney+ Drop (May 11–17, 2026)
Disney+ is also rolling out a messy pile of other releases this week. Here’s your one and only list from me for the next batch:
- Monday, May 11
- American Idol (Season 9, ABC) — Streaming live at 8 p.m. ET
- Tuesday, May 12
- A Marvel Television Special Presentation: The Punisher: One Last Kill (Disney+ Original) — Premieres at 6 p.m. PT
- Wednesday, May 13
- Gold Land (Hulu Original) — New Episodes
- Hey A.J.! — New Episodes
- Friday, May 15
- Perfect Crown (Hulu Original) — New Episode
- Travis Japan Summer Vacation!! in the USA (Hulu Original) — New Episode
- Saturday, May 16
For the Completionists
There’s also a mention floating around about a 'Wonder Man' Season 2 update—because why not pile on more Marvel news? But right now, 'The Punisher: One Last Kill' is the big ticket, especially for anyone who missed Frank’s unceremonious exit from 'Daredevil'.
So, if you want to watch Bernthal brood, scowl, and probably break multiple Geneva conventions while searching for meaning (or just a little peace), mark down May 12, 6 p.m. PT. Let’s be honest: this is the closest Disney+ comes to letting a Marvel character get real messy.
