Scary Movie 6 star Marlon Wayans just teased a White Chicks 2 idea set at Mar-a-Lago, hinting at the kind of chaos a comeback could deliver.

If you've ever wondered whether White Chicks 2 is really a thing that's still lurking somewhere in development hell—you're not alone. Nearly two decades on from the original, Marlon Wayans has once again started stirring the pot about dragging those infamous prosthetics out of storage. Yes, apparently, people are still asking about a sequel, and Marlon’s very much game for it—provided a few things go his way first.

White Chicks 2: Still a Maybe

Marlon Wayans has been chatting with Variety, dropping hints that the idea of another White Chicks hasn’t been put to bed just yet. Every so often, the story comes back to life—mainly because the Wayans family can’t seem to let go of it, and honestly, the fans are just as persistent.

When someone brought up the completely wild idea of setting White Chicks 2 at Mar-a-Lago, Marlon didn’t shoot it down outright. In his words:

'That’s not a terrible idea! I just had that conversation with my big brother and I shot him down. “White Chicks” can go anywhere, but Mar-a-Lago and Florida would definitely be a fun place to make that happen and see our girls in that world. “White Chicks” are like Medea—you can send them to space and they’ll be funny. I wanna do “A Very White Chicks Christmas.” I have a different idea, but we’re discussing. And we’ll find the right place to put them.'

So, in short: there’s no script in hand, but the Wayans are tossing ideas about for everything from Mar-a-Lago farce to some kind of Christmas caper, and Marlon clearly reckons there’s comedy juice left to squeeze wherever the Wilson sisters end up.

The Scary Movie Connection

There is a catch, though. Marlon says the odds of a White Chicks sequel rise dramatically if the upcoming Scary Movie 6 makes a dent at the box office. It’s a bit of Hollywood maths: if Scary Movie lands, studios might start throwing cheque books around again. The reality? Scary Movie 6 isn’t exactly riding a wave of rave reviews so far. Marlon’s already riffing about ideas for Scary Movie 7, because apparently you can never have too many horror spoofs.

The Original's Cult Status (and Rotten Tomatoes Shame)

For anyone who’s blanking on White Chicks: it came out in 2004, directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and written by the Wayans brothers. The basic plot is classic early-noughties nonsense: two FBI agents go undercover as high-society twins—complete with ridiculous prosthetics and wigs—after the real sisters bail due to a minor car accident. The goal? Catch some would-be kidnappers at the Hamptons, naturally.

The original cast included:

  • Shawn Wayans as Kevin Copeland
  • Marlon Wayans as Marcus Copeland
  • John Heard as Warren
  • Busy Philipps as Karen
  • Jessica Cauffiel as Tori
  • Terry Crews as Latrell (who arguably stole every scene he was in)
  • Jaime King as Heather
  • Frankie Faison as Chief Elliott

Despite it being a critical punching bag at the time (currently holding a mighty 15% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes), White Chicks somehow found its audience—eventually pulling in over $113 million worldwide, and settling into that sweet spot as a cult comedy. The audience score? Not brilliant, but a more forgiving 55%.

What Next?

Scary Movie 6 is heading to cinemas on 5 June 2026. Whether its fortunes at the box office end up dragging White Chicks 2 out of the rumour mill and into grim, prosthetic reality is a wait-and-see situation—as it’s basically up to how well Marlon and co’s brand of nostalgia comedy goes down this time round.
