Sinqua Walls boards James Gunn’s Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow, but his role remains under wraps.

James Gunn is back in Superman territory, and if you thought the casting was done, think again. Sinqua Walls has officially joined the roster of Man of Tomorrow, the next installment in Gunn's DC universe. Shooting is already underway in Atlanta, and, in true superhero tradition, there's a total info blackout on who Walls is playing. No leaks, no cryptic teases, just pure speculation for now.

If you're not immediately picturing Sinqua Walls, here's a quick rundown: he's been in Friday Night Lights, The Blackening, White Men Can't Jump (the new one), Carry-On, Power, and American Soul. In other words, he's bounced across genres and already has plenty of screen cred.

What Gunn Has Actually Said (It's Not Much)

James Gunn doesn't love giving away the playbook, but he did spill a little during a chat on the Howard Stern Show last year. The short version:

'It's a story about Lex Luthor and Superman having to work together to a certain degree against a much, much bigger threat. It's more complicated than that but. It's as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie. I relate to the character of Lex, sadly. I really wanted to create something extraordinary with the two of them. I just love the script so much.'

If you read between the lines, Gunn's basically promising a Superman movie where Lex Luthor isn't just the villain—he's, if not co-headlining, at least causing trouble in a way that might actually matter to Superman for once.

Where the Cast Stands

  • David Corenswet — still our Superman
  • Nicholas Hoult — suiting up as Lex Luthor
  • Lars Eidinger — playing Brainiac (yes, please)
  • Aaron Pierre — popping by as John Stewart (from HBO's Lanterns)
  • Rachel Brosnahan — back as Lois Lane
  • Skyler Gisondo — returning as Jimmy Olsen
  • Sara Sampaio — back as Eve Teschmacher
  • Matthew Lillard — role under wraps
  • Adria Arjona — officially on board, probably as Maxima, though unconfirmed (some folks are still holding out hope for Wonder Woman, which feels... ambitious)
  • And of course, now, Sinqua Walls — mystery part

The release date is locked for July 9, 2027. So, you can pencil it in, but maybe don’t clear your schedule just yet—this is DC, after all.

What's Next in the DCU Timeline?

But before we even get close to Man of Tomorrow, DC has a few more swings lined up:

Supergirl hits theaters on June 26, with Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) taking the lead as Kara Zor-El. That cast is surprisingly stacked, featuring Eve Ridley (3 Body Problem) as Ruthye, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hill, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura, and Jason Momoa—finally—as Lobo, which might be the most obvious casting in years, and took DC a decade to get around to.

Then there’s Lanterns coming to HBO on August 16, and a Clayface movie set for October 23. Let's see if DC can keep the momentum up—or at least keep the delays to a minimum.
