Kevin Hart is bringing the ice bath to Netflix: Cold as Balls returns later this year with six new episodes, and Serena Williams is diving in.

If you thought Kevin Hart's freezing-cold chat show had quietly vanished after all those years shivering on the LOL! Network, think again. 'Cold as Balls'—that’s the one where he quite literally interviews famous sports stars while both of them sit in ice baths—is back. And, in something of a plot twist, it’s jumping ship to Netflix later this year.

Chilled to the Bone, Now on Netflix

Since launching back in 2017 (which already feels like a different era), 'Cold as Balls' somehow became Hart’s longest-running show. It’s been happily bubbling away on his Laugh Out Loud (LOL!) Network, drawing some impressive guests willing to freeze for their five minutes with Hart. The show’s premise is… well, entirely focused on Kevin Hart and [insert legend] chatting in a pair of ice baths, which is either genius or deeply uncomfortable, depending on your tolerance for temperature-based awkwardness.

Netflix has now officially picked up the new season, and they're not messing about—they've ordered six episodes, all of which are set to be filmed live at Fanatics Fest in New York. Before anyone asks: yes, the ice baths are sticking around. Apparently, they don’t do heated paddling pools on this budget.

This Season’s Guest List

  • Serena Williams (tennis icon—some would say 'GOAT')
  • Rob Gronkowski (NFL star/occasional human wrecking ball)
  • Cooper Flagg (if you’re big on high school basketball phenoms, his name’s already on your radar)
  • Sean O'Malley (UFC’s most ostentatiously-coiffed fighter)
  • Zlatan Ibrahimović (claims to be a lion, mostly plays football)
  • IShowSpeed (YouTuber and internet chaos merchant)

Kevin Hart put out a statement—because of course he did—saying:

"Cold As Balls coming to Netflix feels like a homecoming, I’m pairing two of my favorite entities together for unbeatable conversation and content. I love that for 12, going on 13 seasons, this show continues to be a celebration of sports and entertainment. Together with Hartbeat and OBB we have created an outlet where I get to chat with the biggest athletes in a relaxed and comfortable setting that allows for conversations you won’t find anywhere else. Recording live at Fanatics Fest brings so much more energy into the tubs, you forget you’re freezing your balls off!"

A Quick Recap, If Your Memory’s Frosty

Previous series have seen Hart corner the likes of Tom Brady and CM Punk for mid-chatter shivers, mixing the usual career retrospective with the sort of banter that only gets loose once hypothermia sets in. For those who enjoy watching millionaires endure physical discomfort, it’s solid gold.

'Cold as Balls' comes from the minds of Michael D. Ratner & Sean Spencer. Michael D. Ratner stays on as director (and showrunner), with Kfir Goldberg. The produced-by list is nearly as long as the guest line-up: Ratner, Goldberg, and Scott Ratner for OBB, eff Clanagan and Tina Maher for Hartbeat, with Hart himself, Tyler Salter, and Dave Becky all chipping in.

Hart’s Netflix Blag: Not Just Cold Baths

Hart seems to be in full-on Netflix mode these days. Beyond 'Cold as Balls', he’s got the streamer renewing 'Funny AF with Kevin Hart' and giving it a gentle nudge towards the Primetime Emmys (which would be mildly hilarious, given the format). On the film side, he’s starring in an as-yet-untitled spy-action-comedy with Henry Cavill and also lines up for a film called '72 Hours'. All on Netflix. The man is, frankly, everywhere.

One detail Netflix has decided to hold back on: the actual premiere date. All they’ll say is that the new 'Cold as Balls' episodes are dropping this summer—so keep an eye on your queue if you fancy watching sporting legends get frostbite in HD.
