How many series of Harry Wild are there? Jane Seymour's sleuth isn't slowing down
Cosy crime shows come and go, but Jane Seymour's Dublin-set sleuth has quietly become one of Acorn TV's biggest hits. If you're wondering how much of it there is to watch, the answer is: plenty — and the freshest batch is airing right now, as of July 2026.
The short answer
Five series, plus a two-part special. Series 5 is currently rolling out on Acorn TV — it premiered on 22 June 2026 and wraps on 27 July 2026 — bringing the total to 34 episodes once it's done: 32 regular episodes and the two-part special that landed in late 2025.
The series-by-series breakdown
- Series 1 (April 2022) — eight episodes. Retired literature professor Harriet "Harry" Wild is mugged by teenager Fergus Reid (Rohan Nedd), recruits him as her sidekick instead of turning him in, and starts meddling in the cases of her detective son Charlie (Kevin Ryan).
- Series 2 (October 2023) — six episodes. Fergus's mother resurfaces years after abandoning her family, handing the duo a deeply personal mystery.
- Series 3 (May 2024) — six episodes. A boy band singer's suspicious death, a decapitation at a restaurant, and a mystery novelist shot in a locked panic room with no gun.
- Series 4 (May 2025) — six episodes, opening with a serial killer who leaves a coin in each victim's mouth. It ranked among Acorn TV's ten most-watched seasons ever.
- The special (24 November 2025) — a two-parter bridging series 4 and 5.
- Series 5 (June–July 2026) — six episodes spanning whiskey-making, a cursed Macbeth production, musical tattoos, and a gang of middle-aged lady burglars.
The Dr Quinn reunion
Series 5 comes with a treat for long-time Seymour fans: Joe Lando — her Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman co-star — joins the cast as Pierce Kennedy, the new State Pathologist. It's the pair's first regular on-screen partnership since the 1990s frontier drama, and the trailer leans happily into their chemistry.
Will there be a series 6?
Nothing is confirmed yet. But the renewal pattern is encouraging: series 5 was greenlit at the ATX Television Festival in June 2025 while series 4 was still airing, on the back of double-digit viewership growth.
Announcing it, Seymour — who also executive produces — said she was "excited for her to solve a new batch of layered mysteries."
For the record: Jane Seymour is 75, filming six episodes a year in Dublin, and shows no sign of stopping. Harry Wild might just be her busiest decade yet.
