Filming news at last for A Quiet Place 3 — and a star's 'bold' franchise bookend tease
A Quiet Place Part 3 is ticking along nicely, according to one of its stars — who also teased how the franchise might be capped.
It looks like A Quiet Place Part III is actually happening, and things are moving along nicely for the final act of the Abbott family saga. After the somewhat agonising wait since the last film dropped in 2021, fans can now breathe a (silent) sigh of relief: filming’s apparently finished, and there’s concrete news about the trilogy’s endgame.
Noah Jupe told Radio Times: 'I mean, this is the third. This is the trilogy. This is the one. I think it pretty well bookends the series. It’s big and it’s bold!'
Noah Jupe—who’s played Marcus Abbott since the first one nearly ten years ago—revealed this update, making it sound like filming wrapped reasonably recently. So if you were worried the third film might disappear into "development limbo" like so many horror sequels, looks like we’re in the clear. Not bad considering how long it’s been since Krasinski’s aliens first started ruining the peace and quiet.
The Cast and Crew
As for who’s back, you’re getting all the familiar faces: Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, and Jupe himself are all set to return. There are also a few new additions—Jack O'Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O'Brian have joined up, though we’re still in the dark about exactly who they’re playing.
Behind the camera, it’s business as usual: John Krasinski is writing and directing Part III, just like the last two. No points for guessing plot details though—everything’s still locked away tighter than a soundproof basement. If you’re hoping for spoilers, you’ll have to wait until someone inevitably leaks something online.
Where the Franchise Stands Now
The Quiet Place universe isn’t just sticking to the mainline films these days. Since Part II, we've got the spin-off film, A Quiet Place: Day One, which came out in 2024 and was directed by Michael Sarnoski. Plus, there’s the odd video game adaptation if that’s your thing—but at the moment, no new spin-offs have been officially announced. Part III, as Jupe quite plainly put it, is being positioned as the proper finale to the main story.
A Quiet Place Part III lands in cinemas on 30 July 2027.
