Millie Bobby Brown’s super-sleuth returns: Enola Holmes 3 locks a July 2026 premiere on Netflix.

Well, Enola Holmes isn’t going anywhere. If you’ve been wondering what Millie Bobby Brown would do after the Upside Down, she’s very much staying in business with Netflix (and getting a sweet deal out of it). The Enola Holmes series—itself drawn from Nancy Springer’s book series about Sherlock’s plucky kid sister—has been a surprisingly big hit for Netflix. The streamer isn’t done milking it yet.

Third Time's the Charm (and the Paycheck…)

So here’s where we are: Netflix officially confirmed a third installment, Enola Holmes 3, back in November 2023. At that point, things were so early there wasn’t even a whiff about the plot—probably because the second movie pretty much went off-book, not even bothering to follow the original novels. Not that anyone cared; the viewing numbers were huge.

Cast: The Usual Suspects Are Back

If you’re hoping for a total cast overhaul, well, lower those expectations. Millie Bobby Brown is returning to play Enola, obviously. Louis Partridge is reprising his role as Viscount Tewkesbury (still the most British name ever), Henry Cavill is back as the world’s broodiest Sherlock, and Himesh Patel returns as John Watson. No complaints there, honestly.

So, When’s It Dropping?

Here’s what you want to know: Netflix is planning to release Enola Holmes 3 on July 1, 2026. Yes, you read that right—2026. If you’re still keeping score, that’ll be almost four years after the last movie and a whopping six since the first. Kind of a bold move given Netflix’s short attention span for their own shows.

  • Enola Holmes (the original): dropped September 2020
  • Enola Holmes 2: out November 2022
  • Enola Holmes 3: expected July 1, 2026

The Franchise Is Actually Good (and Critics Agree)

For what it’s worth, the first two movies weren’t just popular—they pulled off that rare trick of scoring well with both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. The first film landed a 91% with critics and a solid 71% with viewers. The sequel bumped those up to 93% (critics) and 79% (audiences), so apparently, Netflix actually knows a hit when it sees one.

Still Light on Plot Details

Plot details for number three? Nada for now, but Netflix is all-in on the franchise. And honestly, seeing Brown and Cavill do their snarky sibling thing is probably enough to get plenty of viewers to tune back in.

Netflix: 'Enola Holmes 3 is in early development as of November 2023 and will premiere July 1, 2026. Millie Bobby Brown and core cast return.'

TL;DR: Enola Holmes 3 is coming, it just’ll take a while. Hope you’re patient—or at least good at rewatching the first two.
