Marvel’s big-screen calendar now stretches to 2030, stacking major sequels and new faces—yet leaving a few tantalising blanks for unannounced MCU projects.

Marvel Studios has gone and pencilled in its movie slate all the way through to 2029, if you can believe it. The MCU’s calendar is starting to look more like the national rail timetable—ambitious, occasionally mysterious, and with a few blank spaces that have everyone guessing.

The Known Line-Up

First, the ones we can actually talk about. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is due to hit cinemas on 31 July, 2026, officially marking the start of the next barrage of Marvel films. Forget about summer holidays, we’ll be spending it in the dark with Peter Parker again.

Then come the heavyweights. Avengers: Doomsday is set for 18 December, 2026. Not much breathing room either, as Avengers: Secret Wars follows up exactly a year later—landing on 17 December, 2027. I suppose they’re aiming for Christmas tradition status at this point.

As for 2028, Marvel’s filled most of that year already. There’s an untitled X-Men film booked for 5 May. Two months later, Ghost Rider rolls in on 28 July with Ryan Gosling officially on board to play the lead, which is certainly a choice. And the year wraps with Black Panther 3 on 15 December, now featuring David Jonsson as T’Challa’s successor. That’s the plan, assuming nothing goes sideways behind the scenes.

The Mystery Slots

Now for the odd part—2029 has three dates set aside purely as “Untitled Marvel”. Mark your diaries for 4 May, 13 July, and 9 November. What’s actually going in those slots? Your guess is about as good as anyone’s outside a Burbank boardroom.

Marvel’s 2029 calendar currently lists three MCU movie release dates with no announced titles: 4 May, 13 July, and 9 November.

The speculation game is in full swing. Shang-Chi 2 keeps popping up as a likely candidate—Simu Liu hasn’t hung up his rings, but there’s not so much as a shooting schedule yet. Doctor Strange 3 could be another, especially after the last mind-bending romp, but again, nothing officially locked in. Chances are we’ll see rumblings of Fantastic Four 2, Deadpool 4 or a brand-new franchise chasing the spotlight. One of those slots might even go to another team-up flick spun out of whatever mayhem Avengers: Secret Wars inflicts upon the timeline.

In reality, those 2029 places are little more than placeholders for now—and Marvel’s not exactly famous for sticking to initial dates once production headaches begin. Titles, stories, and yes, those release dates, could still shift about depending on whatever Kevin Feige decides. The most sensible bet: expect actual movie titles for these mystery dates only once the dust from Secret Wars settles.

In the meantime, the MCU’s official calendar will keep giving fans just enough to speculate about, without actually telling us anything definite about what we’re queueing for three years from now.
