Did you spot him? Marvel’s most mysterious cosmic being is hiding in VisionQuest episode 6
VisionQuest Episode 6 slips a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it background cameo into “Deadlock”, and fans have only just clocked which multiversal figure is hiding in plain sight.
If you blinked during VisionQuest Episode 6, you probably missed it — but don’t worry, you’re in good company. Marvel fans have only just clocked a rather sneaky cameo from a certain cosmic observer. You know the one: oversized head, zero subtlety in silhouette. Yes, The Watcher’s made another surprise appearance, and this time he’s lurking in the background of ‘Deadlock’, the latest episode to drop on Disney+.
The Watcher’s cameo in ‘VisionQuest’ was first picked up by Marvel obsessives on social media after Episode 6 hit Disney+ on 29 October 2026.
Where to Spot the Watcher
The scene in question finds Vision in Madripoor. It’s Marvel’s answer to a lawless Southeast Asian city-state — always a reliable hotspot for dodgy deals and masked vigilantes. Anyway, as Vision squares off with bounty hunter Paladin (the guy’s a bit of a deep cut from the comics, in case you’re wondering), there’s a moment the camera drifts past a shop window. Through the glass, if you’re paying extremely close attention, you’ll see the unmistakable outline of The Watcher, just hovering in the background. Not waving, not barging in — just, well, watching. As he does.
- The Watcher’s silhouette appears in a Madripoor shop window during ‘Deadlock’.
- First spotted by fans on social media with close-up screenshots.
- Echoes similar sly cameos in other shows, most notably Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
This bit of cosmic photobombing isn’t new territory for the MCU Disney+ run. Over the past couple of years, The Watcher has shown up as Easter eggs across several projects — with most people missing it until someone on the internet goes pixel-hunting. Marvel Television boss Brad Winderbaum even acknowledged the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 cameo, where The Watcher popped up in a shattered gym window mid-punch-up. Winderbaum gave the game away with an Instagram caption about the character’s ‘observational role’ — although, true to Marvel PR form, stopped just short of officially saying it’s him.
Who Is This Bloke?
Just to ground things: The Watcher’s not a new character for faithful Marvel viewers. Voiced by Jeffrey Wright in the What If...? animated series, he’s basically the multiverse’s nosy neighbour — always peering in but rarely interfering directly, unless something’s gone majorly sideways. Marvel themselves confirmed, via their UK Instagram account, that The Watcher has shown face (and dome) across four different Disney+ titles so far: What If...?, X-Men ‘97, I Am Groot, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Episode 6 also packs a lot in besides cosmic window-shopping. Vision’s mission in Madripoor is to rescue Thomas Shepherd, with Vincenzo Natali directing the drama and a subplot unveiling Jocasta’s backstory and her rather unnerving nanobot plan with Ultron.
As soon as fans spotted The Watcher, chatter broke out across Twitter, with some comparing this latest cameo to the Daredevil: Born Again gag. Others are already speculating whether these teases are going to amount to something serious in Avengers: Doomsday. The hype machine grinds on: next up, VisionQuest Episode 7 drops on 4 November, with the finale scheduled for 10 November, in case you want to start scanning backgrounds early.
