Daredevil fans are furious that Born Again is ending — and are already pitching where Matt Murdock goes next

Just when you thought Marvel might be gearing up for another marathon run, it turns out Daredevil: Born Again is officially tapping out after its third season. That final batch of episodes is already shot and due to land on Disney+ at some point next year, but any hope of endless street-level shenanigans is now on ice. The reaction from fans has been, well, 'furious' feels about right.

Fans Let Loose
Word of the cancellation broke via The Hollywood Reporter, and fans wasted no time venting their anger all over X (still refusing to call it Twitter, sorry Elon). You've got the usual cries of 'Why are they cancelling good shows?' and 'Atrocious decision.' Not heavy on nuance, but you get the idea. There's also a fair bit of optimistically wild speculation about the possibility of Daredevil pivoting to a solo film now the show's packing it in. Some reckon he’ll pop up in a Defenders or Spider-Man team-up movie, though Marvel hasn't actually said a word about that.
Why Is It Ending?
The axe comes not long after Season 3 finished shooting, and, in what feels a tad too convenient, just as showrunner Dario Scardapane parted ways with Marvel. Apparently, Scardapane’s contract expired and Marvel quietly opted not to bring him back. A source says the third season's deep in post-production already, so the offboarding should be as drama-free as it gets, at least behind the scenes. As for Marvel's official comment? It's your classic no comment – not a peep from them.
What’s in Store for Season 3?
The upcoming run picks up about six months on from where Season 2 left off. According to the synopsis, Matt Murdock is in prison, and Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist are on the hunt for someone else to don the Daredevil suit. Meanwhile, Bullseye gets handed a new target to keep things interesting.
