Netflix is bringing back the rowing drama with Ke$ha and Mad Men's Jessica Pare after just three weeks on air
Crew Girl landed on 10 September and held its place in the English-language Top 10. Season one ends on a love triangle and a new girls' team.
Netflix clearly has an appetite for sports drama with a dash of pop-star chaos, because Crew Girl has just been renewed for a second series. You might not have caught it yet, given it only landed in early September, but apparently plenty of people have — it stuck around the platform’s English-language TV Top 10 for a fair whack after its debut.
Crew Girl launched on Netflix on 10 September 2026 and quickly climbed into the streamer’s most-watched charts.
The Set-Up: Boats, Baggage, and a Bit of Romance
Written by Vivian Lin, Crew Girl is your classic coming-of-age drama, only with rowboats and family disgrace tossed in. The show follows Teagan (brought to the screen by rising star Miku Martineau), a 16-year-old obsessed with rowing. That all goes sideways when her dad gets caught up in an embezzlement debacle, forcing Teagan and her mum, Ella (played by none other than former Mad Men standout Jessica Paré), to pack up and head for the windswept shores of Eagles Cove. Apparently, not the sort of place you’d pick unless you’re desperate or into rowing.
Teagan lands at the slightly terrifying Easton Prep, only to discover the school hasn’t bothered to set up a girls’ rowing team. Instead, she winds up as the coxswain for the school’s unruly boys’ boat — and has never actually done the job before. Maybe someone should have pointed her in the direction of YouTube tutorials.
The Cast and All the Drama
Alongside Paré and Martineau, the show features Kyle Clark as Cam (the silent type, bit of a grafter), Samuel Braun as Josh (school golden boy, with family money to match), and, just for fun, Ke$ha popping in as a special guest. Pop royalty on a rowing show. Why not, eh?

- Miku Martineau (Teagan) — at the centre of everything, trying to steer both boats and her own life

Season one finished on a classic cliffhanger — Teagan stuck in a love triangle between Josh and Cam, just as a new competitive girls’ rowing team gets off the ground at Easton Prep. The next season promises to dig deeper into both the tangled romance and the new team dynamics. If you enjoy sports drama with a side of small-town scandal, that’s your lot.
There’s no official release date for Crew Girl series two yet, and Netflix is playing coy for now. Series one is up and streaming if you fancy catching up before the boat races (and the mess) resume.
