Aaron Paul joins DC's Clayface in a secret role
Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul is reportedly joining DC’s Clayface in a mystery role, as James Watkins directs and Tom Rhys Harries takes the lead as Matt Hagen. The film hits theaters in October.
Here we go yet again with the DC rumour mill—this time, it’s Aaron Paul (yes, that Aaron Paul from 'Breaking Bad') who’s supposedly turning up in the new Clayface film. The report comes from Feature First, and while nothing’s been made official, it suggests Paul’s landed a brief part in the movie. Naturally, no confirmation from Paul himself or DC at this stage, so take that with the appropriate handful of salt.
What’s properly confirmed is that James Watkins is in the director’s chair for this one. The lead, Matt Hagen (that’s Clayface to the DC faithful), is being played by Tom Rhys Harries. The film’s due to hit cinemas in October.

In typical DC fashion, there are leaks and wild speculation floating about—some reckon Robert Pattinson’s Batman might make an appearance. No solid evidence, but fan theories do what fan theories do.
James Gunn, who is steering the larger DC ship these days, has already put it on record that Clayface is ‘totally DCU. It was very outside of the grounded non-super metahuman characters in Matt's world.’ In short, it’s not connected to Matt Reeves’ Batman universe. One for the continuity enthusiasts there.

And just to clear up any confusion—Peter Safran, who runs DC alongside Gunn, has stepped in to say the ONLY projects living in Matt Reeves’ ‘Crime Saga’ universe are the Batman trilogy and The Penguin spin-off. So Clayface is playing in a different sandbox entirely.
