Brad Pitt brings back Cliff Booth just in time for the holiday rush: The Adventures of Cliff Booth lands November 25, 2026, the day before Thanksgiving, and it’s getting the IMAX treatment.

Here’s one for fans of Tarantino’s twisted take on Hollywood: Brad Pitt is sliding back into those Cliff Booth moccasins for a proper follow-up – and it’s shaping up a lot weirder (and more high-profile) than anyone really expected.

Cliff Booth Returns – This Time, in IMAX

First off, the release. Netflix – which, let’s face it, generally keeps its prestige movies on a short theatrical leash – is giving this one the IMAX treatment, no less. Pitt’s new outing as Cliff lands in cinemas worldwide from 25 November 2026, just before Americans start overdosing on turkey. It’s a two-week exclusive; you’ll have to shift yourself if you fancy seeing Pitt throwing punches the size of a double-decker. After that, it skips onto Netflix on 23 December – basically right as everyone’s stuck inside with relatives and looking for anything vaguely bloody or explosive to distract from family board games.

Now, they’re still calling it ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’ in the trades, but technically, there’s no official title yet. The details of the plot are being kept under lock and key – which, frankly, only adds to the mystery. What is confirmed: it all happens after the events of 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', so presumably Cliff’s still dodging the LAPD and making his way through a rapidly changing Tinseltown.

What About Rick Dalton?

There’s a bit of a twist for fans of the original. Leonardo DiCaprio, who played faded old Rick Dalton, isn’t back for this one. DiCaprio confirmed himself he wouldn’t be appearing, apparently after being offered a frankly silly amount of cash to join. I mean, if throwing him millions didn’t work, you know it’s not happening.

The Line-Up

Here’s who’s confirmed to appear alongside Pitt:

  • Elizabeth Debicki
  • Scott Caan
  • Carla Gugino
  • Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
  • Peter Weller
  • Matt Groove
  • HB Tadena
  • Corey Fogelmanis
  • Karren Karagulian

Pretty wild assortment, honestly. You never know who’s going to turn up in a Fincher/Tarantino mash-up.

The Dream Team: Fincher, Tarantino, Pitt

So, this is where things get properly Hollywood nerdy. The film’s written by Quentin Tarantino himself – so expect the same blend of mad plot twists, raucous dialogue, and lovingly stretched-out tension. Directing duties, though, go to David Fincher. Fincher and Pitt go way back: in fact, this’ll be their fourth go-round together after 'Se7en', 'Fight Club', and 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'.

The vibe: Fincher’s clinical perfectionism mashed up with Tarantino’s wild, unpredictable scripts. No idea who wins that tug of war, but it’ll definitely be fascinating to watch.

Bit of Background for the Uninitiated

If you missed the first film (what were you doing in 2019, anyway?), 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' had DiCaprio and Pitt as a fading actor and his stunt double, wandering through late-Sixties Los Angeles. The film’s basically a love letter to both old-school cinema and Hollywood’s seedier side, not to mention it spun off a whole alternate universe where key real-world tragedies (looking at you, Manson murders) got an entirely new, unhinged ending. It crawled its way to ten Oscar nominations and bagged two: one of those for Pitt, who pretty much stole the entire film as Cliff.

To sum it up: Pitt’s doing another round as one of the coolest stuntmen in film history, the whole thing’s got Fincher and Tarantino handprints all over it, and you’ll get a proper shot at IMAX mayhem before it vanishes onto Netflix. Still no word if anyone’s dog survives this time.
