Baywatch alum Carmen Electra has a simple playbook for the reboot crew — always be ready — and she isn’t ruling out diving back in. The original Lani McKenzie, who logged eight seasons on the sand, shared the tip at the Scary Movie 6 premiere.

Here’s a familiar face making the pop culture rounds again: Carmen Electra, former star of 90s mega-hit Baywatch, popped up at the premiere of Scary Movie 6 recently, fielding questions about the long-gestating Baywatch reboot and whether she’d fancy a trip back to the lifeguard tower.

If you’ve lost track, Electra played Lani McKenzie across eight seasons of Baywatch, easily snagging a loyal bit of the show’s sun-drenched nostalgia. Now, with a new generation set to don the red swimsuits, Electra had a few things to say—not just about possibly returning, but about what this new lot are in for.

Could She Be Back?

With all the reboot frenzy, you’ve got to ask: is Electra game for another go? She gave E! News this:

'You never know. I mean, Scary Movie, possibly Baywatch.'

Honestly, she’s playing coy (and who can blame her)—but she isn’t slamming the door, either. She’d just finished a cameo for Scary Movie 6 on the same red carpet, so fair play: if you’re turning up for that franchise, another Baywatch feels about as likely as anything else.

Tough Love for New Lifeguards

But it was her advice for the fresh-faced cast coming in that was genuinely worth a listen. There’s no ‘just turn up, look pretty, and go home’ attitude from Electra—she spells it out:

'It’s a lot of hard work. So, you just want to be in tip-top shape before you step out there, period. And work on your swimming techniques. Because it’s hard. It’s not an easy job.'

And apparently the training wasn’t just for the sake of an impressive montage. Back in her day, the cast got drilled by a real lifeguard—no lazy days on the beach, more bootcamp than beach party. She recalled,

'He was like, “You’ve got to do everything.” He was really tough on us. So, I’m hoping they’re not as tough on them, but I have a feeling they are.'

So, for any reboot hopefuls expecting to breeze in and out of makeup, best be ready to actually swim (and at speed).

Keeping It Positive

Despite all the effort, Electra isn’t bitter about her years pacing the sand. She spoke fondly of her Baywatch days and, separately, had only good things to say about making the Scary Movie franchise, both then and now.

  • Carmen Electra is open to returning for the Baywatch reboot, but nothing is confirmed
  • Her big tip for new cast? Get properly fit and polish those swimming skills, because the show is no picnic
  • The original actors faced legit physical training with a real lifeguard—no slacking
