Fresh from a record-breaking run in cinemas, Disney and Pixar’s newest Toy Story outing is heading home — and you won’t be waiting long.

Right, so Toy Story 5 is about to make its way to living rooms—but not quite in the way you might expect if you’re used to Disney throwing things on streaming day one. Disney and Pixar have set the film’s digital release for 18 August 2026, which gives cinemas a solid two-month head start on your sofa.

Toy Story 5 hits digital shops like iTunes and Amazon on 18 August 2026.

The film itself originally landed in cinemas on 19 June, and since then it’s basically cleaned up—no surprise, given the last one was a money-printing machine. They’re keeping the Disney+ streaming date under wraps for now, though, so if you want the privilege of hearing Tom Hanks’ existential crisis through your own speakers this summer, you’ll have to fork out for the digital version. Not exactly shocking, but you’d think by now they’d settle into a reliable rhythm. As of this moment, the only thing anyone official has confirmed is that paid digital rentals and purchases come first.

Fair to say Toy Story 5 isn’t stretching the formula as far as distribution’s concerned—but, judging by those box office figures, they don’t really need to.
