Peacock goes pedal-to-the-metal in May, unleashing a high-octane Jason Statham and Jessica Alba action thriller, stacking the lineup with Quentin Tarantino heavy-hitters, dropping an acclaimed sci-fi gem, and capping fan favorites with season finales—dozens of fresh streams all month.

If you thought Peacock was just coasting into summer, think again. May is absolutely packed on the streamer — we’re talking everything from Jason Statham’s particular brand of action ridiculousness, to Quentin Tarantino’s greatest hits, a buffet of new (and very old) movies, plus a bunch of TV finales and some wild curveballs tossed in for good measure.

Fast Cars, Big Explosions, and a Rotten Tomatoes Reminder

First on Peacock’s May hit list is 'Mechanic: Resurrection', with Jason Statham and Jessica Alba. This is the one where Statham plays Arthur Bishop, a retired assassin literally pulled out of his peaceful, fake-your-death life when (shocking no one) his girlfriend gets kidnapped. Cue lots of Statham grimacing his way through death-defying action set pieces, including — I don’t want to spoil, but let’s just say: helicopters, underwater prisons, and the sort of villain names that feel ripped out of a Nintendo game.

The movie didn’t exactly light up Rotten Tomatoes (currently sitting at a 30% critics rating), but you know what you’re getting with this one: fights, stunts, and Statham acting like he’s allergic to small talk.

Tarantino Overload (In a Good Way)

For those less interested in adrenaline and more into stylish dialogue, the streaming gods are blessing Peacock with a full-on Tarantino festival. We’re talking:

  • 'Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair' — that’s Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 edited into a single (bloody) saga, not usually easy to find
  • 'Pulp Fiction'
  • 'Death Proof'
  • 'Django Unchained'
  • 'The Hateful Eight'
  • 'Inglourious Basterds'
  • 'Jackie Brown'
  • 'Planet Terror' (okay, Rodriguez directed, but it’s all the same crowd)
  • 'Reservoir Dogs'

Basically, Tarantino marathon mode is unlocked for the binge-inclined.

Not Just the Usual Suspects: The Full May Lineup

Peacock is rolling out literally dozens of films and shows for May. Some are stone-cold classics, some are the kind of “wow, I forgot about that” movies, and some are… well, “Gods of Egypt.” Highlights (and some head-scratchers):

  • Comedies like 'Bridesmaids,' 'Billy Madison,' 'The Blues Brothers,' 'Kicking & Screaming,' Mrs. Doubtfire'
  • Film nerd favorites: 'Dunkirk,' 'Shutter Island,' 'The Talented Mr. Ripley,' 'Jojo Rabbit'
  • Family fare: 'The Boss Baby,' 'The Secret Life of Pets,' 'Charlotte’s Web'
  • Sci-fi and fantasy galore: 'Galaxy Quest,' 'Boogie,' 'Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron,' 'The Martian,' 'The Mummy' (and its sequels... yes, even the Dragon Emperor one)
  • Action and thrillers: 'Zero Dark Thirty,' 'The Day After Tomorrow,' 'Battle: Los Angeles,' 'Hunter Killer,' 'Four Brothers,' 'Double Jeopardy'
  • Touch of prestige: 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' 'Hugo,' 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding,' 'Munich'
  • Some, let’s be honest, classic cable filler: 'Where'd You Go, Bernadette?,' 'Zookeeper’s Wife,' 'Gods of Egypt'
  • Plenty of 'wait, that’s streaming?' options like 'Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story,' 'Kiss the Girls,' 'Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights'

TV: Season Finales All Over the Place

If you’re into closure (or at least cliffhangers), May is overloaded with big TV season finales:

Peacock is wrapping up fresh seasons of 'Ladies of London,' 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' 'Chicago Fire,' 'Chicago PD,' 'Chicago Med,' 'Law and Order,' 'Law and Order: SVU,' 'Saturday Night Live' (and the new UK version — don’t ask me how that’s going), 'Summer House,' 'Southern Hospitality,' and plenty more.

Also notable: 'Dateline: Unforgettable' is back for Season 7, plus more new seasons and finales for true crime diehards ('Killer Couples,' 'The Killer Among Us'), and some very Peacock-y original drama premieres like 'M.I.A.,' 'Another Man’s Wife,' and 'In the City.'

Some Surprises and the Odd One Out

For the theater crowd, May brings not only the 'Wicked' movie, but also a 'Wicked Sing-Along' (presumably for people who know Elphaba’s notes better than their own phone number). And for fans who want a dose of faith-based drama, 'Unsung Hero' pops up almost out of nowhere.

Also, keep an eye out for the latest entry in the home invasion universe, ‘The Strangers: Chapter 1,’ and the obligatory reunion specials for every reality franchise that Peacock legally has to make.

Almost Too Much To Stream

If you had any plans in May besides sitting on your couch, Peacock is doing its best to ruin them. There’s so much dumping onto the platform, it’s almost comedy — from Statham’s relentless schedule of over-the-top action, to Tarantino’s blood-soaked epics, to deep reality TV benchwarmers, it’s all there. Watching all of it? Good luck.

'Mechanic: Resurrection' explodes onto Peacock along with a tidal wave of returning favorites, blockbuster movies, and basically everything but the kitchen sink. My advice: prioritize. Or just embrace the chaos.
