With Season 3 on deck, Euphoria’s future is murky: Zendaya hints at a goodbye while creator Sam Levinson won’t commit to a Season 4.

'Euphoria' fans, brace yourselves: there is absolutely zero consensus about whether or not Season 3 will wrap up the series for good. And if you were hoping for a clear answer from anybody in charge, well...welcome to the chaos.

So, is 'Euphoria' Ending or Not?

Creator Sam Levinson is playing it coy about the show's future. At the premiere for Season 3 (which is right around the corner), he told reporters he literally 'has no idea' if a Season 4 will happen. That's not vague — it's just flat-out noncommittal.

'I write every season like it’s the last season,' Levinson told Variety. Talking to ExtraTV, he doubled down: 'I have no idea.'

He did say his main focus lately has been on making sure this run ends with style. As he put it, he's 'just been finishing episodes seven and eight' and wants to 'deliver a fucking slam dunk season.' Might as well finish strong, right?

Whether the show keeps going pretty much depends on two things: does HBO want more, and does Levinson actually feel up to the challenge. So, in Hollywood speak, that's a hard maybe.

Zendaya Thinks Closure Is Coming

Zendaya, on the other hand, is a whole lot more sure about things ending. She recently popped by The Drew Barrymore Show and, when asked if Season 3 is the finish line, answered:

'I think so, yeah. That closure is coming.'

Not exactly a buried lead. Still, HBO hasn't made any sort of official announcement about the show's fate post-Season 3. Yet another case of 'wait and see.'

What’s Actually Happening in Season 3?

This year, 'Euphoria' isn’t picking up where it left off — it’s jumping five years ahead. A quick breakdown of the time skip fallout:

  • Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are married and living in the suburbs. (Yes, really.)
  • Rue (Zendaya) is working to pay off her debt to drug dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly).
  • Jules (Hunter Schafer) is off at art school.
  • Maddy (Alexa Demie) landed a job at a Hollywood talent agency.

The cast is massive this season — and not just the regulars. Sharon Stone, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and Rosalía all show up too. If nothing else, HBO isn’t skimping on guest stars.

Levinson, Zendaya, and Drake (yes, that Drake) are still executive producing.

As for the official logline? It doesn’t come much heavier: 'A group of childhood friends wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption, and the problem of evil.' In other words, expect good vibes and rainbows — or, you know, the opposite.

'Euphoria' Season 3 premieres on HBO April 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. As for much more 'Euphoria' you’ll get after that? Your guess is as good as Sam Levinson’s.
