Will Ferrell just dropped a new Netflix show — and its early Rotten Tomatoes score might make you do a double take.

In case you were sitting there thinking, 'Blimey, Will Ferrell's new Netflix venture might just be his big telly comeback'—well, you might want to curb your enthusiasm. We've now got the first proper round of Rotten Tomatoes stats for The Hawk, and to put it gently, it's gone down with critics like a flat pint at last orders.

Ferrell's Latest: A Rocky Start

The official word from Rotten Tomatoes: The Hawk has clocked in with a rather grim 11% average on their Tomatometer, and that's not out of hundreds of chancers—just nine reviews have landed so far, but almost none were on board.

To keep things in perspective, this sort of score is nearly as rare as a sunny bank holiday in Manchester, and it's now up there (or rather, down there) amongst the five lowest critic scores Will Ferrell's had in his whole career. Given the man's history—which includes some legendary flops as well as genuine comedy gold—that's not exactly the league you want to be joining.

Rotten Tomatoes' current verdict: only 11% of critics gave The Hawk a thumbs up.
  • Nine critics have reviewed it so far
  • Only one gave it a positive mark (yes, just one)
  • This makes it one of Ferrell's five worst on record, by Tomatometer standards

If you were banking on Ferrell’s signature charm rescuing whatever this series turns out to be, the early signs aren’t promising.
