Charlie from Love Is Blind: UK season 2 — who he is, his age, job and hometown, why viewers met him before anyone else in the pods, how his time in the experiment actually played out, what happened to the woman across the wall on that first date, and where to find him now.

When season 2 of Love Is Blind: UK landed on Netflix on 13 August 2025, the first pod conversation viewers heard belonged to a 28-year-old electrical engineer from Essex. Here's who Charlie is — and how the rest of his series went after that opening slot.

Who is Charlie?

Charlie Antony, 28 at filming, works as an electrical engineer and comes from Essex. Netflix's official cast bio didn't oversell him:

"As a self-described former party boy, cheeky Charlie is known for being outspoken," ran the Tudum profile — though the outspokenness "hasn't always led to success in romance."

The fuller picture from the pre-season press: he'd repeatedly struggled to get out of the friend zone with women who saw him as a mate, a recent breakup had knocked his trust, and he went into the pods specifically hoping for older, more mature women — "his words, not ours," as Marie Claire Australia noted in its 2025 cast guide. His Instagram is @charlie_antony1.

That opening pod date

Episode 1, "Eat, Sleep, Date, Repeat", begins with hosts Matt and Emma Willis welcoming the 30 singles — and the first blind date of the entire series pairs Charlie with Ashleigh Berry, a 30-year-old cabin crew manager from Surrey who picked up the nickname Combat Barbie in the army cadets. Sarover, the medical company owner from Buckinghamshire, also had her first pod date with Charlie.

So producers used him as the season's front door. What they didn't do is build a storyline around him: Ashleigh's episode-1 dates continued through Chris and then Billy, the army physical trainer from Bangor — and the shared military background with Billy is the connection that went the distance.

How Charlie's series went

He left the pods single. Marie Claire's cast tracker records it flatly — engaged: no — and the season's Wikipedia table lists him among the participants with no relationship status at all. Of the 30 singles, five couples got engaged on camera (a sixth engagement, Amy Jane and Ross M, was cut from the edit), which left 20 people in Charlie's position. His pod dates in week 1 — Ashleigh, Sarover, and others — simply never turned into the kind of connection the format needs by day ten.

The people from his opening episode did generate the season, though:

  • Ashleigh and Billy — engaged in the pods, married at the altar, split after the wedding.
  • Megan and Kieran — married and still together, the season's clear win.
  • Javen and Katisha — engagement ended before the wedding, after the after-party business surfaced.

Where he is now

Back in Essex, back on Instagram, and not part of the After the Altar episodes that dropped on 12 July 2026 — those belonged to the couples. He surfaced at the reunion on 31 August 2025 with the rest of the pod squad, and that's been the extent of it.

For the record: applications for series 4 are open at loveisblindukcasting.com. Somebody has to get the first date next time as well.
