Where Harry Wild is filmed — the real Dublin locations behind Jane Seymour's Acorn TV detective series, from Trinity College to the Poolbeg chimneys, plus the County Kildare village that supplies Harry's local pub and the actual name of the century-old inn that trades as The Hairy Goose on screen.
Harry Wild wears its setting openly — Jane Seymour's retired literature professor solves murders all over Dublin, and unusually for a cosy crime series, very little of it is faked. The city on screen is the city. The pub is the one sleight of hand, and even that is barely a disguise.
The Hairy Goose is Brennan's Kilteel Inn
Harry's local, The Hairy Goose, is Brennan's Kilteel Inn on Main Street in Kilteel, County Kildare — a village about half an hour's drive southwest of Dublin. The production rebranded it as The Hairy Goose for filming, and crews were first spotted there in June 2021, shooting Harry's retirement party for the series opener.

The pub needed no set dressing to feel a hundred years old, because it is:
A century-old, two-storey, ivy-clad building with two open fires, a tiled floor, a pitch-wood back bar, a clutter of antiques — and, by local reputation, a haunted room.
The Dublin locations
The rest of the shoot roams the capital. The recurring and one-off spots include:
- Trinity College Dublin — the crew filmed across Parliament Square, the Anatomy Building, and the Graduates Memorial Building on College Green.
- The Dropping Well — a real Victorian pub on Milltown Road, used for scenes in the early episodes.
- Christ Church Cathedral — the Wood Quay landmark appears in season 1.
- Poolbeg Generating Station — the famous striped chimneys on Dublin Bay turn up in exterior shots.
The country-house episodes went further afield: one location was the home of writer Selina Guinness, which Seymour described to Express.co.uk as "really bizarre and eclectic and strange and really weird" — she added that rock musicians were living there and wandering in and out mid-shoot.
Why it all stays in Ireland
The series is created by David Logan, written with Irish crime novelist Jo Spain, and produced by Dynamic Television with Acorn Media Enterprises and German broadcaster ZDF. It's set in Dublin, so it shoots in Dublin — principal photography on season 1 ran from May to August 2021, and every season since has filmed in and around the city, with season 5 shooting from September 2025.
Still going — the show and the pub
Season 5 premiered on Acorn TV on 22 June 2026 and ran six episodes to the finale, "Stotious", on 27 July — with Joe Lando joining as State Pathologist Pierce Kennedy, reuniting Seymour with her Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman co-star three decades on. Season 4 ranked among Acorn TV's top 10 most-watched titles ever, and Harry's verdict on the incoming pathologist set the tone for the year: "I'm picturing a fat little man who smells of formaldehyde."
For the record: Brennan's Kilteel Inn is a working pub, so you can drink exactly where Harry drinks. The Hairy Goose only exists while the cameras are up. The pints are available all year.
