What to watch on Amazon Prime UK in July 2026: biggest new shows and films arriving this month
Prime Video UK has a busy July: a Legally Blonde prequel, an Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham assassin comedy, Batman's return, and — the surprise of the month — Ryan Gosling's Project Hail Mary arriving to stream. Here's what's landing, and when.
Elle — 1 July
The month's flagship. Elle is a prequel series to Legally Blonde (2001), following a teenage Elle Woods — played by newcomer Lexi Minetree — through high school in 1990s Seattle, six years before the events of the film. Reese Witherspoon executive produces, and has said the idea was sparked by watching the success of Netflix's Wednesday: audiences love seeing how an iconic character was forged. Expect pink against a wall of grunge.
Project Hail Mary — 3 July
Announced at short notice on 1 July, the streaming premiere of Project Hail Mary is the biggest film arriving this month. Ryan Gosling stars as Ryland Grace, a science teacher who wakes from a coma alone on a spaceship with no memory and one job: save the Sun. Adapted from Andy Weir's novel by directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, it was a hit in cinemas back in March. If you missed it then, this is the moment.
Ride or Die — 15 July
A buddy comedy-thriller with a cast that sells itself. Debbie Claybourne (Octavia Spencer) thought she knew everything about her best friend Judith Burton (Hannah Waddingham) — except the part where Judith is an international assassin. When a hit goes wrong and a figure from Judith's past surfaces, the pair go on the run across Europe with police, trained killers, and assorted criminals behind them.
Batman: Caped Crusader series 2 — 31 July
The hard-boiled animated series returns as a full binge drop on the last day of the month. Executive produced by Bruce Timm (of the beloved 1990s Batman: The Animated Series), J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves, series 2 continues Bruce Wayne's early years as a vigilante — and picks up after series 1's tantalising tease of the Joker.

- Murder on the M25: Who Killed Stephen Cameron? (11 July) — true crime special revisiting the notorious 1996 road-rage killing.
- The Westies (12 July) — a gritty 1980s crime drama about Hell's Kitchen's infamously violent Irish gang, squaring up to the Five Families as the Javits Center construction promises a windfall. Note: this one needs the MGM+ add-on at £5.99 a month.
- Jesy Nelson: Life Changing (17 July) — a one-off documentary following the former Little Mix star after her twin daughters' diagnosis with spinal muscular atrophy, and her campaign to change UK newborn screening.
- Young Farts Trailer Parts (17 July) — small-town brothers Jagger and Dawson turn trailer trash into cash at their multi-million-dollar RV parts business.
- The Curse of Love Island (26 July) — a sobering documentary examining reality TV fame through the stories of Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis, who died by suicide within two years of each other.
