The Bear finished with 21 Emmys and five seasons. FX released all eight episodes of the last one on Hulu on 25 June 2026, having already confirmed the show was ending. Seven of those episodes cover a single day of service. The eighth covers the morning after.

The Bear gets two Michelin stars — for a service months earlier, not the one the team spent the season panicking over. Carmy leaves the restaurant to Sydney, Richie, and Natalie, and interviews for an internship at an architecture firm. The finale closes at a child's birthday party.

The Michelin twist

Season 5 builds towards a dinner for Mr Dearborn, the guest everyone assumes is the inspector. He wasn't. In "The Original Beef of Chicagoland", Carmy finally picks up a number that has been ringing all morning: Peter Clark (Gary Janetti), the real inspector, ate at The Bear months earlier — back in season 4, on the snowy night Richie looked after a vacationing family. Clark's verdict covers the food, the talent, and the room.

Sydney asks whether they got a star. Carmy shakes his head.

"You got two."

The pronoun is the point.

Where everyone lands

  • Sydney — head chef and part-owner, with Michelin credentials and her scallops on the record.
  • Tina — promoted to chef de cuisine.
  • Marcus — runs pastry alone after Luca returns to Copenhagen, and finds Carmy's old journals from The French Laundry, Ever, Copenhagen, and New York left for him with a note reading "No Limits".
  • Richie — flies to Japan for an international hospitality seminar, his first flight.
  • Ebraheim — gets Carmy's sign-off to franchise The Beef and open suburban ghost kitchens with Albert, and signs off the call with "As you wish", a nod to the late Rob Reiner.
  • Natalie — stays on as part-owner, keeping the numbers straight.

Where Carmy goes

Cousin Stevie (John Mulaney) arranges a meeting with Sue (Bonnie Hunt) at an architecture firm, where Carmy is applying for an internship. He tells her about the storm service — everything flooding, everyone pulling together — and that it was the most fun he has ever had. Later, alone in the office, he texts his late brother's disconnected number: "All good."

Is that really it?

Yes. Deadline reported in March 2026 that season 5 would be the last, and Jamie Lee Curtis had already told Entertainment Tonight that month: "It is the end of the show." Jeremy Allen White later said creator Christopher Storer originally planned to stop at season 4.

The last scene is a surprise birthday party at the restaurant for Richie's daughter Eva. Everyone turns up, including Claire — whose status with Carmy the show declines to clarify.
