After nearly 1.3 billion hours streamed on Disney+, Marvel’s most-watched series is sticking around for another season.

Right, here’s one for those of you tracking the endless web of Marvel shows on Disney+: the House of Mouse just went and renewed Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends yet again. If your first reaction is, 'Wait, that Spidey cartoon for kids?' — yes, that’s the one. It’s now Marvel’s longest-running Spider-Man series ever, which, if you know how often Spidey gets rebooted, is nothing short of wild.

Nearly 1.3 billion hours of Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends have been streamed on Disney+ to date.

They announced all this at the D23 Expo, during the '65 Years of Spider-Man' panel, with Alyssa Sapire (Disney Jr. boss of original programming) laying out the future. The show’s premise hasn’t changed: Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Miles Morales take on baddies with their mates, sprinkled with wholesome lessons about teamwork (because this is still Disney Jr., after all).

Seven Seasons — Yes, Seven

Here’s how the line-up stands now:

  • Seasons 1–4: Already out, up for streaming on Disney+ right now
  • Season 5: Currently airing — and, apparently, it’s having the best launch numbers since the very first run
  • Season 6: Booked for a premiere in 2027
  • Season 7: Incoming in 2028 (that’s the fresh renewal we’re talking about)

Season 7 will mark a full seven years on air — which, for a franchise occasionally allergic to consistency, is a genuine feat.

Who’s Behind the Mask?

The show’s creative team is firmly intact: Harrison Wilcox, Bart Jennett, and Chris Moreno are running things as executive producers. Becca Topol doubles up as co-EP and editor, while Steve Grover supervises the whole circus. For music, Patrick Stump (yes, him from Fall Out Boy, who’s Grammy nominated and all) writes and composes the songs. He’s not just writing for the show, but teaming up for a special Halloween one-off too.

The Halloween Special: Spidey Meets Autumn Vibes

While they were at it, D23 attendees caught an early look at Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up! — a special dropping just in time for spook season. Stump joins forces here with another Grammy nominee, Este Haim (of HAIM fame). Both lend their voices to new villains: Jack O'Lantern (Stump) and Hallows Eve (Haim), and the pair also penned two original songs for the episode.

The soundtrack’s dropping through Walt Disney Records on 16 August 2026, across all major streaming platforms. The special itself airs on Thursday, 24 September 2026 (UK airdate source not confirmed, but it goes live on Disney Jr. and On Demand first, then hits Disney+ the next day).
