The latest Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch closed Season 1 as a streaming smash — and Season 2 is already in development.

Taylor Sheridan just can’t stop adding new branches to his Yellowstone family tree. Now, fresh off the show’s headline-making finale, he’s landed his biggest post-Yellowstone hit yet, and – no surprise here – it’s cleaning up on Paramount+. If you couldn’t guess, yes, we’re talking about Dutton Ranch, which has just wrapped up its debut season and already looks like the runaway streaming favourite of 2026.

'Dutton Ranch' Takes Over Paramount+

Quick recap for anyone not glued to the world of Yellowstone for the past year: after the flagship show closed out with its fifth and final season, Sheridan wasted precisely zero time in spinning up new sequels and offshoots. Three so far: The Madison (which is only loosely tied-in), the Kayce Dutton-focused Marshals, and, most recently, the one everyone’s genuinely talking about – Dutton Ranch.

Dutton Ranch launched on 15 May and pretty much shot straight to the top of Paramount+’s streaming charts. It’s been holding onto a spot in the top 10 ever since, because nothing gets viewers' attention like fan favourites Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler starting over in Texas, apparently. The finale – Episode 9 – just landed, and yes, the show is spinning around the top of the charts again. It’s not subtle about being a hit.

What’s The Show Actually About?

Sheridan co-created Dutton Ranch with Chad Feehan and John Linson. This time, it’s Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser, who is, let’s face it, carrying half the show’s emotional gravity) heading down south after selling the old ranch. Of course, it’s not just those two pulling the focus. There’s Ed Harris, Annette Bening, Natalie Alyn Lind, Finn Little, and Jai Courtney. I’d call it an upgrade, but the Yellowstone casting department’s always had a good eye for scene-stealers.

  • Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton
  • Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler
  • Ed Harris
  • Annette Bening
  • Natalie Alyn Lind
  • Finn Little
  • Jai Courtney

Will 'Dutton Ranch' Return?

Of course, the big question is whether Dutton Ranch is sticking around. In typical franchise fashion, Paramount isn’t waiting for the buzz to die down. They’ve already renewed it for a second season. The first season’s finale deliberately set things up for a round two – not exactly a risky move, considering how reliable Yellowstone diehards are for coming back, series after series.

The only wobble in the machine? Chad Feehan, one of the co-creators and showrunner, made a quiet exit straight after season one’s first episode dropped. For season two, Benjamin Cavell will be taking over as showrunner. Which, honestly, could be interesting. New showrunner, new energy – or, if you’re less optimistic, new chance for off-camera drama.

Yellowstone Continues To Sprawl (Yes, More Texas)

If you thought the Yellowstone universe couldn’t get any bigger, Paramount is already eyeing up the next big project set in Texas: an entire series about the Four Sixes ranch. That’s 6666 for those keeping track. Sheridan actually co-owns the ranch in real life, in case you wanted a peek at how deep the meta goes. The Four Sixes first popped up in Yellowstone, and now it’s getting a spin-off all to itself. As for when or who’s starring, that’s still tightly under wraps.
