Sydney Sweeney’s supernatural remake of a gothic classic gets the go-ahead
The actor will star in Hollow, a retelling of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, taking the lead in a new adaptation of the 1820 ghost story.
Sydney Sweeney is now officially confirmed to star in Hollow, a fresh take on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, with Sony backing the project.
The film will be written and directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer, best known for her recent work on Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. Beer will be adapting her own novel for the screen, promising a different slant on the famous American ghost story.
While details about the plot and the rest of the cast have yet to be revealed, Sweeney’s involvement points to a project that’s likely to generate considerable interest. Sweeney, widely recognised for her roles in Euphoria and Anyone But You, has quickly become one of the industry’s most in-demand young actors.
Sony has officially green-lit the film adaptation of Lindsey Anderson Beer’s novel, with Beer herself on board to write and direct.
Release dates and UK streaming details for Hollow have not yet been announced.
