Fallout Season 3’s budget has been revealed — and it points to even bigger battles on the way.

Seems like Fallout could be heading for an even more explosive wasteland saga. We’re getting some properly hefty numbers in for season three’s budget, and let’s just say, it looks like Amazon’s pulling out all the stops—or at least throwing a mountain of cash at every prosthetic ghoul and decaying neon sign. No surprise, considering the show’s been pulling in huge numbers and earning buzz for its loving (and very expensive) recreation of the post-apocalypse.

Fallout Season 3's production budget is now listed at $166.3 million, with a record-setting $42 million in tax credits.

So, according to some fresh figures from California’s Film and Television Tax Credit Program, Amazon is now committing a cool $166.3 million for the third season. That’s up by about 21 percent compared to the spend on season two—pretty mad when you realise season two wasn’t exactly done on pocket change either. (For reference, the original run was rumoured to clock in north of $150 million.) This makes Fallout Amazon’s priciest production in California, more than any other of their ongoing series in the state.

Bigger Battles in the Wasteland

The new outlay isn’t just for fun, either—if you followed season two at all, you’ll know they’re setting up for a massive set of faction wars, all heading straight for New Vegas. Caesar's Legion (yep, led by Macaulay Culkin this time, which is still a sentence I can’t believe is real) made their big play for the Strip. The NCR (New California Republic) had themselves stationed all around the area, gearing up for the inevitable punch-up with the Legion and whoever else fancies a go. Basically, New Vegas is now the crossroads for just about every nutter and power-hungry faction still standing.

Meanwhile, the big puppet-masters of the franchise—the Enclave—finally stepped out from behind the curtain. They’re the ones actually yanking the strings of Vault-Tec and orchestrating the whole disaster, deploying their sinister Phase Two. That new phase? Mind-control chips, West-Tek's nasty Forced Evolutionary Virus, and whatever tech horror they’ve got in the basement. Hank MacLean and Stephanie are on the ground for the Enclave, making sure their plans go off without a hitch.

What’s Coming in Season 3

With all that mayhem teed up, season three’s obviously got a lot to deliver. The finale already teased at least three major threads: one, the Brotherhood of Steel might’ve got their hands on the Liberty Prime Alpha superweapon blueprints (so expect a walking tank or two to be stomping around); two, Walton Goggins’s Ghoul is now headed off to Colorado in search of what’s left of his family; and three, the Enclave are prepping for a proper outing as the central villains, with their Phase Two about to kick off for real.

The network hasn’t nailed down a clear release date just yet, but word is that cast and crew block out the production timeline for a May or June 2027 debut window. With the way things are ramping up, there’s every reason to expect some of the wildest Fallout set-pieces on telly yet.
