If you missed the news, Tires—the small, slightly chaotic workplace comedy driven by Shane Gillis—is not just sticking around, it’s properly thriving. Netflix has already tapped it for a fourth series, and to be honest, the stats make it fairly obvious why they would.
From YouTube Root to Streaming Hit
This one’s an indie-to-big-league sort of story. Gillis, alongside John McKeever and Steve Gerben, co-created Tires, and if you rewind to 2019 you’ll find the pilot collecting dust on YouTube. The trio scraped together funds for a six-episode first season in Pennsylvania, keeping the whole thing indie. Netflix only swooped in later, bringing the show onto its ever-expanding platform in 2024 and bankrolling new episodes from then on.
Tires logged more than 45 million total views across its first three seasons on Netflix.
High Scores, Fast Turnaround
Here’s the bit that probably clinched the instant recommission: series three dropped and promptly shot up to number five on Netflix’s Top 10 for English-language TV. To put that in context, it’s the best the show has ever managed in the charts. All told, it’s racked up over 45 million views since Netflix took the wheel. Not too shabby for something that started out as an internet scrapper of a show.
Cast, Cameos, and Comedy Credentials
The regular cast: Gillis, Gerben, Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, Stavros Halkias, and Thomas Haden Church—so a mix of comics and the odd more recognisable face. They’ve managed to land a surprisingly loud set of guest spots too: Andrew Schulz, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Billy Magnussen, and Bobby Lee have all popped in for episodes. The story, in case you’ve blanked, follows the misfit squad working at the fictional Valley Forge auto shop, which is as much a set-up for deadpan humour as it sounds.
Reactions and Future Plans
As for the reaction to the renewal, Gillis turned in a typically understated comment to press:
‘It’s cool to get to make another season of “Tires”.’
Co-creator McKeever let himself get a bit more worked up about it, and even Netflix higher-ups chimed in. Tracey Pakosta, the streamer’s comedy chief, praised the show as an “unapologetic comedy” hitting new heights—her way of pointing out that the fanbase is still properly on the up.
The deal with Netflix goes even further: earlier this year, both Gillis and McKeever signed a broader creative agreement covering new series, films, and—if that isn’t plenty—two Shane Gillis stand-up specials are on the books as well. By the way, Gillis also snagged a Guinness World Record for selling a ridiculous 76,212 tickets to his solo stadium show at Lincoln Financial Field this July. The fella’s having a busy run in 2026, and Tires isn’t stopping anytime soon.
