Shakira’s Red Carpet Close Call Sparks Debate at Zootopia 2 Premiere
Shakira’s rare appearance with her sons at the Zootopia 2 premiere took an unexpected turn, drawing attention from fans and sparking lively discussion online. Discover what really happened on the red carpet.
Shakira made a rare public outing with her sons, Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, attending the much-anticipated Zootopia 2 premiere. The singer chose a lavender turtleneck dress with long sleeves and a flowing, asymmetrical hem for the occasion. However, the event nearly took a turn for the worse when her outfit required several last-minute adjustments from her stylist.
Red Carpet Tension: Dress Drama Unfolds
Footage from the event shows the stylist approaching Shakira on three separate occasions to tweak the hem of her dress, which sat high on her left thigh. While some onlookers saw this as routine, others felt the repeated interventions lingered a bit too long. Shakira’s discomfort was apparent; she placed her hands protectively over the area being adjusted, a gesture that did not go unnoticed by viewers.
One comment summed up the sentiment felt by many:
You can see the uncomfortable reaction. That means no
Her visible unease as the stylist continued to fuss with the dress became a focal point, with some suggesting the situation could have been handled with more sensitivity.
Public Reactions: Divided Opinions
The incident quickly became a talking point online, with fans and commentators weighing in from all angles. Some defended the stylist’s intentions, arguing he was simply trying to prevent an embarrassing mishap under the glare of the cameras. Others, however, felt the adjustments crossed a line, especially given Shakira’s clear discomfort.
He was genuinely trying to fix something on her where it looks like her body was popping out, and he was trying to fix it because of how it would’ve looked with the camera flashes. He was really looking out for her.
He’s trying to help & there’s no ill intentions but the timing was off. 😂
Stylist loves their design and don’t like when it’s not perfect.
SHE SHOULDN’T HAVE WORN THAT BUT HE MADE HER TOO UNCOMFORTABLE INFRONT OF HER CHILDREN AND THE VIEWERS
In our industry reading body language is very important, I didn’t see any malicious behavior but she was clearly uncomfortable and that’s the issue. As a professional you must find a way to resolve the issue without causing these situations
Everyone saying she was uncomfortable cuz of him. Look at her walk away. She’s covering that area. She’s uncomfortable due to the dress and the possible exposure it could give. Her stylist sees this and tries to help. He is doing that in reaction to her reaction wearing the dress. Not the other way around
This is why I don’t like stylists sometimes. They don’t know when to stop fixing the clothes, hair etc. like you are in front of cameras read the room.
He wasn’t fixing anything…he was violating her in front of the world. At what point do people become self aware? The lack there of is concerning
I get that he might have wanted the dress to look perfect but to ignore all the signs and not acknowledge that she was not okay with what he was doing is appalling. She’s not his mannequin, she’s a living, breathing person with feelings that should be respected
The comments reveal a split in opinion: some believe the stylist was simply doing his job, while others argue that more attention should have been paid to Shakira’s body language and comfort.
Zootopia 2: What’s New in the Sequel?
The film itself, released on 26 November 2025, arrives nearly ten years after the original. This time, the trailer offered little in the way of dialogue, instead teasing the return of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde alongside a mysterious new antagonist, Gary De’Snake. The story sees the duo going undercover to investigate this new arrival, with the action expanding into previously unseen areas of the city, including marshes and desert landscapes.
The cast features familiar voices: Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy, Jason Bateman as Nick, Shakira reprising her role as Gazelle with a fresh look and new song, and Idris Elba as Chief Bogo. Newcomers include Ke Huy Quan as Gary, Fortune Feimster as Nibbles, Quinta Brunson as Dr. Fuzzby, and a cameo from Dwayne Johnson as Zeke the dik-dik.
Audiences are left to decide for themselves whether the red carpet incident was simply an unfortunate wardrobe moment or something more. Meanwhile, the film is now showing in cinemas, inviting viewers to experience the next chapter in the Zootopia story.
