Season 4 barely ended — Reacher already greenlit for season 6

Reacher is absolutely smashing it for Prime Video — not just steaming along, but careering into another early renewal. The streaming service has just greenlit a sixth series, which is properly ahead of schedule considering season four only just bowed out. If you thought they'd wait to see how the current run finishes trickling out, think again. Amazon clearly wants to keep the Jack Reacher train running like clockwork — which, these days, feels close to miraculous.

Early greenlight, no fuss

If you're wondering why the rush, it's all about keeping momentum. These days, most streaming series seem to take several ice ages between seasons, but Reacher is determined to buck the trend, aiming for a steady yearly drop. The early nod for season six doesn't just look confident, it keeps the production line ticking over — no stalling or annoying cliffhanger waits (looking at you, every other prestige drama).

Season five has already started shooting as of July, and it's based on 'Make Me', the twentieth entry from Lee Child's seemingly endless collection of Reacher novels. What the sixth series will adapt is still a mystery. If you're a Reacher book nerd, keep your speculation hat on.

Amazon can't get enough

Peter Friedlander, who's Head of Global Television over at Amazon MGM Studios, made it clear how chuffed the studio is with the whole affair. Here’s his official take on why the show's such a juggernaut:

Reacher is a truly iconic series, and we’re thrilled to be on the ride with this extraordinary cast and crew for Season Six.’

It’s almost gushy, but fair enough — Alan Ritchson is practically made out of chin and fisticuffs at this point, and he’s certainly made the character his own.

The ever-growing Reacher-verse

Straight after its fourth run, Reacher clocked up 66 million viewers around the globe in under a month. That’s bonkers. Unsurprisingly, Prime’s wasted no time setting up spin-offs. The first, simply called Neagley, drops Maria Sten into the spotlight as Reacher’s private investigator mate. Our own Alex Maidy was keen on it; he reckons Sten more than carries things solo, even saying it's just as entertaining as the main show. He did mention, though, that seeing Reacher and Neagley team up always feels like the big-screen crossovers — so you know, there’s fun to be had with the franchise straddling its different corners.
