Robert Pattinson says he had a solid reason for skipping Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding — and why fiancée Suki Waterhouse went solo. The pop powerhouse and NFL star made it official July 3, punctuated by a just married sign outside Madison Square Garden.

If you watched Taylor Swift's ultra-hyped wedding to Travis Kelce and noticed Suki Waterhouse waltzing in solo—no Robert Pattinson in sight—you're definitely not alone. In fact, Rob himself has now explained why he had to skip the New York mega-event (and judging by the guest list, this was not your average White Wedding). Let’s get into the details, which are genuinely more entertaining than a lot of the films Rob's made—no offence to Cosmopolis fans.

Robert Pattinson: Too Busy for Taylor’s Big Day

In an interview at the London premiere of his latest project, The Odyssey (yes, that's another Christopher Nolan epic—how does that man ever rest?), Rob explained why he didn’t make it to Swift and Kelce’s ceremony at Madison Square Garden.

Here’s the deal: Pattinson was chained to his work in London, double-booked with press junkets for Nolan’s film and neck-deep in shooting The Batman: Part II. So, while you might think he’d be the sort to pop over the Atlantic for a high-profile wedding, apparently there are limits.

Meanwhile, Suki Cleaned Up

Suki Waterhouse, Rob's fiancée, had no such scheduling nightmares. She found herself among what Entertainment Weekly reckoned was a crowd of about 1,000 guests. Now, this wasn't some sedate family affair: we're talking luxury party favours everywhere you turned—Cartier watches, Chanel bags, Dior handbags, and for the petrolheads, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle. Subtle.

According to Rob, Suki didn’t exactly give him a blow-by-blow account of everything she scooped up at the do. When Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier filled him in on the luxury swag bags, Rob’s response was bang on:

'They were giving away lots of stuff? What did I get?'

Probably nothing, mate—maybe a leftover napkin if you're lucky.

But apparently, Suki did leave the rehearsal dinner with a diamond-encrusted champagne flute. Because, as we all know, nothing screams 'best wishes' quite like several carats on a drinking glass.

Old Pals and Recent Gigs

Suki and Taylor go back a bit. They've been friends since 2016, and Suki recently opened for Taylor during the London shows of the Eras Tour last year. So her invite wasn’t just about plus-one status—she's firmly on the guest list in her own right.

The Star-Studded Premiere—And an Even More Star-Studded Wedding

  • Date Pattinson found out about the wedding loot: July 6, 2026, at the Odyssey world premiere in London
  • Film he was promoting: The Odyssey (directed by Christopher Nolan, global cinema and IMAX release July 17)
  • Wedding location: Madison Square Garden, New York
  • Gala location: Odeon Leicester Square, London
  • Pattinson's film co-stars present: Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Elliot Page, Jon Bernthal, Himesh Patel, John Leguizamo, Mia Goth, Benny Safdie, Samantha Morton (plus the ever-present Nolan)

If anything, Pattinson was probably at the only room in London with a comparable A-list headcount to Taylor’s bash. Still, you have to wonder if Bruce Wayne himself could have blagged a spare Chevelle.
