VisionQuest has a release date update

Heads up for Marvel fans: there's officially a date for the next chapter in Vision's story. Disney+ has handed out the invite, and it looks like we're all assembling on 14 October 2026 for the first episode of VisionQuest. This comes off the back of a somewhat messy Marvel TV slate, and yes, they're actually steering clear of another binge drop after the Wonder Man fiasco.

VisionQuest premieres on 14 October 2026 and will air episodes weekly, not all at once.

That staggered schedule is a bit of a throwback, and frankly, it gives everyone more time to stew over each twist instead of blasting through in a single weekend. It also makes it a proper TV ‘event’ again, which seemed to work out for WandaVision but didn’t exactly help Wonder Man — that series dropped all eight episodes at once, then promptly got pulled after it was initially lined up for a second run. According to Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Wonder Man himself), the axe dropped for business reasons, numbers not being up to scratch.

Vision on the run

If you’re wondering where VisionQuest fits in the Marvel jigsaw, here’s the gist: it carries straight on from WandaVision, and also follows on from Agatha All Along, wrapping up that particular trilogy. Paul Bettany is back in the lead, still wrestling with the after-effects of his previous exploits, and this time Vision isn’t exactly blending in – he’s in hiding, bounty slapped on his synthetic head and all. There’s a proper cat-and-mouse element, with Todd Stashwick stepping in as the bounty hunter Paladin, who seems quite keen on cashing in.

Alongside the hiding and hunting, Vision’s attempting to work out who he really is (again), with his broken memory and all those serial numbers not exactly helping matters. That puts him in contact with a whole cast of familiar AI faces from the Stark stable – we’re talking F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S. and the rest. James Spader is even popping back up as Ultron, with both he and Bettany apparently switching between human and android forms throughout.

The showrunner is Terry Matalas (who’s built his reputation on the likes of Star Trek: Picard), which suggests Marvel wants this one to stick the landing. It’s an eight episode series, all live-action, and this is Bettany’s first proper MCU TV return since WandaVision. Both he and Spader are set to pop up both as their android selves and in human guise. Expect a fair bit of digital trickery.

So, a weekly episode drop, a plotline tying up three shows’ worth of oddness, and a cast full of familiar faces and AI oddballs. Vision fans, the calendar’s sorted: VisionQuest arrives 14 October 2026, Disney+.
