The first look at Ready or Not 2: Here I Come teases a wild, blood-drenched sequel packed with sharp wit, a sinister new game, and a star-studded cast.

The debut trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has arrived, promising a sequel that’s every bit as grisly as its predecessor. The original film flirted with camp, but this follow-up appears to fully embrace its offbeat, tongue-in-cheek sensibility. The opening moments find Samara Weaving’s Grace recovering in a hospital bed, sighing,

‘Thank God it’s over.’

She could not be more mistaken. Rather than receiving proper treatment, Grace is unwittingly drawn into a fresh ordeal. The notorious ‘Hide or Seek’ is now passé; the new challenge is ‘Double or Nothing’.

Elijah Wood steps in as a sharply dressed antagonist, informing Grace that her troubles are far from finished.

‘You’ve caused quite the stir. You married into that family, now they’re dead. What you didn’t know is that this goes far beyond them,’

he remarks, revealing that she must now contend with the deadly High Council. Grace, exasperated, protests,

‘I’m not playing.’

However, her resolve falters when Wood’s character introduces her sister Faith, played by Kathryn Newton, and threatens her life should Grace refuse to participate.

New Faces, Deadlier Stakes

What follows is a frenzied, blood-soaked pursuit as a new cast of hunters joins the fray. Nestor Carbonell, Shawn Hatosy, Varan Sarunga, and Sarah Michelle Gellar arm themselves for the chase, targeting the two sisters. The supporting ensemble is further bolstered by Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, and David Cronenberg, though they remain unseen in the initial teaser.

Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who helmed the original, return to steer this chaotic sequel. The film is set for release on 10 April 2026, and if the trailer is any indication, audiences can expect a blend of outrageous violence and sly humour, all wrapped up in a high-stakes game that’s anything but fair.

Anticipation Builds for the Sequel

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come looks set to deliver a riotous mix of horror and comedy, with its cast clearly relishing the mayhem. The trailer’s energy hints at a film that refuses to take itself too seriously, instead revelling in its own absurdity. For those keen on the genre, this sequel is shaping up to be a highlight among the year’s most anticipated releases.

As horror fans look ahead, the question remains: which recent release has been your favourite so far in 2025? With titles like The Conjuring: Last Rites, Weapons, 28 Years Later, Final Destination Bloodlines, and Sinners all vying for attention, it’s a strong year for the genre.
