Ramsay Bolton is joining the Has Fallen universe for a mission in Southern Africa
Shadow Has Fallen is beefing up its ranks, with a Game of Thrones villain among the new faces joining the Has Fallen franchise’s third season.
Well, the Has Fallen franchise has decided it is absolutely not going anywhere, and now it's lining up even more familiar faces for its third TV outing, titled Shadow Has Fallen. If you thought you were across all the spinoffs and sequels (good luck, frankly), here comes another way to keep you guessing who's about to get kidnapped or shot at next.
Shadow Has Fallen will see Vincent and Zara embark on their most demanding and morally challenging mission – a mission that takes them into the very heart of Southern Africa.
New faces and old problems
This time, Iwan Rheon (yes, Ramsay Bolton from Game of Thrones, which essentially makes him the go-to guy for untrustworthy supporting characters), Brendan Coyle from Downton Abbey, and Atandwa Kani (recognisable if you've re-watched Black Panther enough) are all joining the mayhem. They'll square off alongside returning leads Tewfik Jallab (ex-agent Vincent Taleb) and Ritu Arya (MI6's Zara Taylor), who survived the chaos of Paris Has Fallen and clearly did not negotiate a quiet spin-off set in the Cotswolds.
- Series creator Howard Overman is once again writing – and promising the stakes have gone up considerably, now that the action is headed for Southern Africa.
- There will be six episodes in this third round, with filming already up and running across the UK and on location in South Africa.
- Marco Kreuzpaintner (The Lazarus Project) and Alice Troughton (The Living and the Dead) are on co-director duties.
- Production comes under StudioCanal, with Julian Murphy, Johnny Capps, and Howard Overman handling executive producer jobs.
The series will draw on South Africa’s world-class cast (additional names to be announced), crews and creative talent, further showcasing the country’s capabilities on the global stage.
If you're trying to keep track, Shadow Has Fallen picks up after the events of Paris Has Fallen and yet another upcoming instalment, Apollo Has Fallen. No word yet on when you'll actually get to watch all this, but with production now rolling, expect more casting news and probably a lot of stylish explosions before 2026 takes a bow.
