Paramount+ doubles down on its breakout reality hit, renewing Canada Shore for Season 2 and keeping the Jersey Shore party raging north of the border.

Well, that didn’t take long. Paramount+ just gave a green light to Season 2 of Canada Shore, their loud, messy, strangely hypnotic reality TV import that first showed up in January. If you missed it, the show is basically the Canadian cousin of Jersey Shore—which, yes, was a whole cultural moment from 2009-2012, and has somehow spun off into 17 other versions around the world. (Apparently, people love watching strangers sleep in the same house and lose their minds at each other.)

Why Canada Shore Got the Nod

According to Paramount exec Katrina Kowalski, the renewal wasn’t exactly a debate in the boardroom. Her official quote:

'Renewing Canada Shore was an easy choice. The series has quickly become a fan favourite, connecting with audiences through its unmistakable, outrageous cast who may not depict stereotypical polite Canadian-ness, but have hearts much bigger than the chaos they bring.'

So, not what most people think of when they picture Canadians, but apparently that’s the appeal.

What You’re Actually Watching

Here’s the gist: Canada Shore is shot in Kelowna, British Columbia. Yes, that means you get scenic lakeside shots in between the drunken shouting matches. Insight Productions (they’re tied to Blue Ant Studios, for those keeping track) handles the heavy lifting behind the scenes.

Season 1 stuck ten young Canadians in a house for a few weeks. There’s booze, hookups, friendship drama, and general mayhem—the usual for this format. If you want names, here’s who made up the inaugural cast:

  • Bauer Swystun
  • Christopher Brown
  • Emmett Watson
  • Emmy Sharpe
  • Ethan Maynard
  • Gizelle Fray
  • Isaiah Crawford
  • Keyaira Snow
  • Lila Romanin
  • Ryleigh Gregory

It’s worth pointing out that showrunner Erin Brock is basically promising more utter chaos in the next round, with this summary:

'The response from Shore fans to this authentic, funny, over-the-top, messy cast has been awesome. And the messiness didn’t end just because the cameras stopped rolling. The housemates have a lot to unpack this summer, and I can guarantee sparks are going to fly from Day One.'

Season 2 Details (and Your Chance to Join)

If watching all this has you thinking, "Honestly, I’d survive a summer with this group," you might be in luck. Production is set to start sometime this summer, and—plot twist—they’re looking to add new faces. If you’re a Canadian citizen somewhere between 19 and 26 years old, you’ve got until April 30 to throw your name in the hat.

So, in short: More wild reality TV is coming, possibly with some brand new voices screaming on that lakeside deck. We’ll see if Season 2 keeps up the drama—or if polite Canadian instincts finally kick in. I have my doubts.
