Netflix has quietly updated its app to mark four of its own Originals for the chop in August, with the exact titles and removal dates now confirmed.

Well, here we are again—Netflix is clearing out some of its catalogue come August, and this time, it's doing away with four rather varied Originals you might have missed on your last scroll. They're not your run-of-the-mill American series, either; we're talking Russia, Belgium, Colombia, and a bit of stand-up to round things out. Fair warning if you had any of these in your queue—tick-tock, as they say.

What's Getting the Chop?

  • Better Than Us (Seasons 1–2) – This Russian sci-fi drama is making its exit after 16 August 2026. Originally out in 2018, it spins the tale of a family inadvertently caught in a deadly chase after crossing paths with a next-level robot. Paulina Andreeva heads up the cast as Arisa (the robot, obviously), joined by Kirill Käro and Aleksandr Ustyugov. Fun fact: critics rated it a whopping 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, which almost never happens for series with subtitles.
  • Langston Kerman: Bad Poetry (2024) – If you fancy a bit of stand-up, you've only got until 20 August 2026 to watch Langston Kerman's special. It's directed by none other than John Mulaney, and has Kerman riffing on everything from dodgy teenagers to helping out his mother-in-law with the perils of dating apps. Standard Netflix comedy fare, but with a bit more bite thanks to Mulaney behind the camera.
  • Under Fire (Season 1) – Coming up to its final alarm on Netflix on 24 August 2026, this Belgian drama focuses on the chaos (and soap-opera-level personal drama) of firefighters at East Bank Station. The main cast: Louis Talpe, Lien De Graeve, Wouter Bruneel, and Ann Tuts. Another one that got quietly dropped without a lot of fanfare, despite its solid production.
  • Undercover Law (Season 1) – Last up, this Colombian thriller bows out 31 August 2026. Released back in 2018, it follows the usual suspects—three undercover agents—risking their necks and their families to bring down heavy-hitting criminal outfits. The leads are Viña Machado, Luna Baxter, Juana del Río, and Valeria Galviz. If gritty procedural crime is your thing, you might want to get a move on.
Better Than Us holds a rare 100 percent critics' rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

So, if any of the above tickle your fancy, maybe shuffle them up to the top of your watchlist before Netflix pulls the rug out. Not every week do you get Russian sci-fi, Belgian firemen, and Colombian undercover agents leaving together—it's almost a weirdly curated festival of international TV, if you're into that sort of thing.
