Michael Star makes a play for the MCU’s Miles Morales
After wowing fans as young Michael, a rising star has put himself forward to play Miles Morales in the MCU.
If you thought the scramble to play the next Spider-Man had died down, you might want to check your Twitter feed. The speculation’s just getting started, and now there’s a new contender tossing his hat in the ring for the role of Miles Morales — and we’re not talking another generic TikTok hopeful, but a proper rising star straight off a critically acclaimed biopic.
Juliano Valdi, fresh off his headline performance as young Michael Jackson in 2026’s ‘Michael’, has now declared he’d love to become the MCU’s Miles Morales. This is the same actor who’s still not even 15, but already catching the eye of casting directors and Marvel obsessives alike, which frankly speaks for itself considering the kind of roles he’s taking on at 12.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Valdi said about the web-slinger: 'I'm getting to the age where I really wanna play Miles Morales, so hopefully I can do that. I'm not 15 yet, but I would love to hop in the MCU.'
What makes Valdi’s case even more endearing (and let’s be honest, more meme-worthy) is that not only is he a genuine Spider-Man fan, but his mum apparently thinks he looks just like Miles Morales. Though, to be fair, half the internet would probably say the same after a particularly flattering selfie.
Miles Morales: MCU Arrival
Now, in terms of the bigger Marvel machinery — and yes, it’s as tangled as you’d expect — Kevin Feige has already confirmed he’s planning to introduce Miles Morales into the mainline MCU at some point. Official word is that we’ll have to wait until after ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ drops on 18 June 2027, which is supposed to be the final entry in the animated trilogy. That said, the rumour mill reckons Marvel might sneak him in even sooner if the mood takes them.
When asked about a future handover, Tom Holland told the Associated Press: 'I definitely have a desire to bring Miles Morales to the screen and to shepherd whoever the lucky young kid is who gets that job, in the way that Robert Downey Jr. did for me.'
Holland, ever the diplomat, even dropped a not-so-subtle hint in another interview with radio outlet 1Live. When pressed for questions he still had as a Spider-Man fan himself, he quipped something along the lines of 'When will we get Miles Morales? Because I know the answer.' Pretty smug, honestly, but if he’s got Feige’s number on speed dial, who’s going to argue?
- Juliano Valdi: 12-years-old, starred as young Michael Jackson, wants to play Miles Morales in the MCU
- Debut timing: Officially after ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’ (18 June 2027), but could be earlier if Marvel’s feeling cheeky
- Marvel’s stance: Total radio silence on the casting front
So, for now, the MCU remains tight-lipped and full of surprises. But with actors like Valdi making their interest public, and existing Spideys all but passing the torch, it’s looking less like a matter of 'if' and more 'when' Miles finally swings onto our screens.
