An A Quiet Place favourite is suiting up for a mysterious turn in Avengers: Secret Wars, with Joe and Anthony Russo at the helm.

If you thought Marvel was all out of surprises, think again. Noah Jupe – yes, the kid from A Quiet Place who spent half the film hiding and making terrified faces – has apparently joined the MCU. And not just anywhere, but in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars, which lands right after Avengers: Doomsday, itself not even out yet. They're really stacking their dominoes for these next few years, aren't they?

Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to premiere on 17 December 2027.

From Shushing Aliens to Secret Wars

The report comes via Deadline, and to be honest, Marvel themselves haven’t piped up officially, so at this point we’re all working on faith (and Deadline’s track record). What we do know: the Russo brothers (Joe and Anthony, who helmed the last two proper Avengers behemoths) will direct Secret Wars. And Jupe, who’s just about everywhere lately if you count both screens and stages, has snagged a ‘key’ mystery role. Naturally, Marvel's keeping schtum about anything else, not even a coy teaser in sight.

Noah Jupe is only 21, but the man’s already racking up a half-decent résumé. You might have seen him star opposite Sadie Sink (yep, from Stranger Things) in the Harold Pinter Theatre's West End production of Romeo & Juliet earlier this year – that ran from March to June, with Robert Icke directing. The cast? Quite the list, actually: Jamie Ankrah, Dylan Corbett-Bader, Eden Epstein, Alex Felton, Kasper Hilton-Hille, Aruna Jalloh, John Marquez, Lewis Shepherd, Caroline Moroney, Alexander Uzoka... the works. If you care about your Shakespeare, you’ll know being Romeo on the West End isn’t nothing. Not bad for someone who started off running from monster aliens.

Who Could He Be?

This is where things get a bit speculative (as if Marvel casting isn’t always a bit of a national sport). Rumour mill has it – courtesy of Twitter’s favourite industry crystal-ball-gazer, Daniel Richtman – Jupe could be playing Franklin Richards. If you know your comics, you’ll know Franklin is the son of Reed Richards and Susan Storm, and ‘key role’ would definitely fit. But, none of this comes with a guarantee, so best not go betting your mortgage on it just yet – we all know how these MCU rumours go down. At the moment, we’ve not heard a peep from Marvel confirming anything about Jupe’s role, so your guess is as good as the next person’s.

What we do have, though, is a handful of casting murmurs. Aside from Jupe, it’s been reported that the next Avengers could bring back a load of familiar faces: Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anthony Mackie, Pedro Pascal, Paul Bettany, David Harbour, Sebastian Stan, and Florence Pugh are all in the ‘rumoured to return’ bucket, for now. It’s proper celebrity soup. Production is meant to kick off later this year, with the film slated for the back end of 2027.
