Beef’s second season left audiences ravenous for more, but the show’s fate is still on the chopping block—renewal or cancellation could be next.

If you powered through both seasons of Beef and you're wondering what Netflix has planned next, you're definitely not alone. The show managed to snag plenty of attention with its pitch-black sense of humor and absolutely bonkers drama. And after a solid second season, a lot of people (myself included) have been asking: are we getting a Season 3, or is this where the road rage screeches to a halt?

So, is Beef coming back?

Short version: Netflix hasn't decided yet. They haven't cancelled it, but they haven't said yes to a third season either. So if you're refreshing your news feed hoping for a big renewal announcement, you'll have to keep waiting for now.

The show dropped its second season on April 16, 2026, and this time around, it used its anthology format to spin a whole new story instead of following the same characters from Season 1. (If you've somehow missed that “anthology” means “the writers can jump anywhere they like, plot- or character-wise,” now you know.) Basically, each season is its own contained chaos, so there's plenty of flexibility for the showrunners if Netflix wants more.

What's the holdup?

Right now, everything depends on how Season 2 performs. If people keep streaming (and talking about) it like they did with the first batch of episodes, Netflix is way more likely to pull the trigger on another season. Of course, reviews and critical buzz still matter a lot for shows like Beef. If Season 2 keeps the momentum going, I'd bet on at least one more season. That's always the risk with anthology shows, though—each new story has to win over audiences all over again.

Season 2: New drama, new faces, same outrageous mess

If you haven't caught up, Season 2 pivots to a fresh trainwreck: a Gen Z couple (country club workers) accidentally witness an ugly row between their boss, Josh, and his wife, Lindsay. Naturally, things spiral from there, and the young couple gets pulled deep into the boss-couple's personal disasters—partly through manipulation, partly through sheer obligation. Meanwhile, both couples are desperate to impress Chairwoman Park, the most powerful figure in their posh universe, who's got her hands full dealing with her own husband's scandal. And it's all as over-the-top as it sounds.

This season's cast

  • Charles Melton
  • Cailee Spaeny
  • ...and a few more familiar and surprising faces

Where to watch (and why you should)

Both seasons of Beef are streaming right now on Netflix. If you want to weigh in on whether the show deserves another round of misery and mayhem, there's still time to binge—and trust me, you won't be bored.

'Each season brings a brand new set of characters and storyline, giving the series a lot of creative wiggle room. If Season 2 can keep its buzz and audience numbers up, a third run is definitely on the table.'

No word yet from Netflix, but as soon as they make a move, you'll hear it here first—along with all the details they try to bury in the press release. Stay tuned.
