Interview with the Vampire currently stands at three seasons and 22 episodes — and the third season is airing right now. Here's the full count, as of July 2026.
Season by season
- Season 1 — 7 episodes, premiered on AMC in October 2022. Louis (Jacob Anderson) tells journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) the story of his life with Lestat (Sam Reid) in early 1900s New Orleans.
- Season 2 — 8 episodes, aired from May 2024. Louis and Claudia in post-war Paris, the Théâtre des Vampires, the trial, and the truth about who saved Louis.
- Season 3 — 7 episodes, premiered on 7 June 2026 under a new title: The Vampire Lestat. Episodes air weekly on Sundays, with the finale scheduled for 19 July 2026.
Total so far: 22 episodes. Roughly 22 hours of exquisitely dressed vampire misery.
Why season 3 has a new name
Season 3 adapts the second book in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles — The Vampire Lestat — and hands the microphone to its title character. Furious at how Molloy's published book portrays him, Lestat sets the record straight the only way he would: by forming a rock band and going on a 50-stop world tour. AMC's official synopsis promised it plainly:
"No Auto-Tuning. No Trigger Warnings. All Feels Amplified."
The season features original songs by composer Daniel Hart, with Sam Reid performing in character, and introduces long-awaited characters including Gabrielle, Magnus, Marius, and Akasha (Sheila Atim).
When and where to watch
New episodes land on AMC+ in the early hours of each Sunday, then air on AMC at 9pm ET the same evening. Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream in full, so a complete catch-up before the finale is 15 episodes — very doable across a couple of weekends.
Will there be a season 4?
Nothing is confirmed yet. The show sits inside AMC's wider Anne Rice "Immortal Universe" alongside Mayfair Witches and the Talamasca spin-off, and showrunner Rolin Jones has plenty of books left — The Queen of the Damned is the obvious next stop, and season 3 is already borrowing its characters.
Worth noting: season 3 itself was ordered on 26 June 2024, days before the season 2 finale even aired. AMC doesn't hang about.
