Hunter x Hunter is finally back: return date confirmed after nearly two years

Here’s the crux: Weekly Shonen Jump has now confirmed that Hunter x Hunter will return to serialization in Issue #31, set to hit shops and digital platforms in Japan on 29 June 2026. That’ll be Chapter 411—the first new material in nearly two years.

Bit of a quirky one—the news didn’t drop via a typical big press release, but instead snuck out through the preview section for Issue #30 (that one’s due 22 June 2026 in Japan). Basically, some keen-eyed fans spotted the early promo images for the next issue and—there it was: Chapter 411, next week.

What’s Actually Finished?

If you’re wondering what Togashi’s playing at with all these delays, here’s a bit of context. Over the past year or so, he’s mentioned on X that more than twenty chapters are apparently finished on his end. He’s also said that ten are fully prepared and ready to go. However, the final say isn’t down to him—it’s up to the Shonen Jump editorial team.

"Please wait for the announcement from the Jump editorial department regarding the publication timing for chapters 420 onward," Togashi’s stated. So in other words: he’s waiting too.
