How old is the Coronation Street cast right now? Every regular's age — from the only face left from episode one to this year's arrivals

Sixty-six years of continuous production does odd things to a cast list. One regular was born before the Second World War; several of the children on the cobbles were born after the show's 50th anniversary.

Ages below are correct as of 15 September 2026, based on published birth dates. The current regular line-up runs to roughly 60 credited characters across more than 11,500 episodes, and the gap between the oldest and youngest adult regulars is over 70 years.

The 80s and 90s bracket

Four regulars are past 80, and one of them has been there since the first episode.

• William Roache (Ken Barlow) — 94. Born 25 April 1932. On screen since 9 December 1960 and the only original left, which makes him the longest-serving television soap actor in the world.
• Barbara Knox (Rita Tanner) — 92. Born 30 September 1933, so she turns 93 in a fortnight. One episode in 1964, then a full-time return in January 1972.
• Sue Nicholls (Audrey Roberts) — 82. Born 23 November 1943. Audrey arrived in 1979.
• Dame Maureen Lipman (Evelyn Plummer) — 80. Born 10 May 1946, joined in 2018 — by some distance the latest arrival in this group.

Collecting his Guinness World Records certificate in 2020, Roache credited the programme with a lifetime of wonderful memories. He has since said publicly that he intends to make it to 100.

• Pauline McLynn (Maggie Driscoll) — 64. Born 11 July 1962, one of the Rovers' 2025 arrivals.
• Sally Dynevor (Sally Webster) — 63. Born 30 May 1963, on screen since 1986.
• Michael Le Vell (Kevin Webster) — 61. Born 15 December 1964. Continuous since 1983.
• Jimmi Harkishin (Dev Alahan) — 61. Born 19 March 1965 in Paris. First appeared 10 November 1999.
• Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster) — 59. Born 2 July 1967. Played Debbie in 1984–85, returned in 2019.
• Jane Hazlegrove (Bernie Winter) — 58. Born 17 July 1968.
• Tony Maudsley (George Shuttleworth) — 58. Born 30 January 1968.
• Joe Duttine (Tim Metcalfe) — 56. Born 30 June 1970.
• Ben Price (Nick Tilsley) — 55. Born 30 June 1971 — same birthday as his on-screen neighbour Duttine, a year apart.

• Cherylee Houston (Izzy Armstrong) — 52. Born 20 August 1974.
• Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald) — 51. Born 2 October 1974; he was 15 when Steve first walked in on 6 December 1989.
• Antony Cotton (Sean Tully) — 51. Born 5 August 1975.
• Patti Clare (Mary Taylor) — 50. Born 3 March 1976, same day as Alison King.
• Sally Carman-Duttine (Abi Webster) — 50 or 51. Born in 1975; no exact date is public.
• Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow) — 49. Born 29 December 1976.
• Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby) — 47. Born 8 November 1978.
• Jodie Prenger (Glenda Shuttleworth) — 47. Born 12 June 1979.
• Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby) — 46. Born 26 February 1980.
• Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland) — 45. Born 2 April 1981.
• Samia Longchambon (Maria Connor) — 44. Born 13 July 1982. She was an eight-year-old extra on the show before returning as Maria in 2000.

• Sair Khan (Alya Nazir) — 38. Born 11 February 1988.
• Jack P. Shepherd (David Platt) — 38. Born 14 January 1988. He was 12 when he took over David in 2000.
• Rob Mallard (Daniel Osbourne) — 34. Born 19 May 1992.
• Sam Aston (Chesney Brown) — 33. Born 7 June 1993. On screen since 2003, which means he has spent two thirds of his life on the cobbles.
• Elle Mulvaney (Amy Barlow) — 23. Born 1 October 2002, cast as Amy in March 2010 aged seven.

The ones the show doesn't publish

A sizeable chunk of the current cast has no confirmed birth date in the public record — a standard arrangement for younger performers and for several of the 2025 and 2026 intake, including the Driscoll family at the Rovers, the Michaelis household and the new arrivals of this year. Anything you see quoted for them online is estimate rather than record.

One useful measure of the show's spread: Elle Mulvaney and William Roache have shared scenes as great-granddaughter and great-grandfather, and the real gap between them is 70 years.
