Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent remarks about her Marty Supreme co-star Timothée Chalamet have certainly raised a few eyebrows. It was great. I wasn’t so familiar with his work either, so I did a little bit of a deep dive. He absolutely blew me away. The bravery around playing somebody with no moral centre. Most times when an actor plays someone unlikeable, you can see them couching [it] — but he just drives through it. He’s just a d*ck.

Elordi, too, was quick to praise Chalamet’s commitment, particularly singling out the film’s closing moments as a testament to his skill. The conversation soon turned to the unique challenges of the production, including Chalamet’s ability to juggle multiple demanding projects at once.

On-Set Chemistry and Professionalism

Paltrow, in a separate interview, spoke about returning to a leading role after a lengthy break from the spotlight. She described the dynamic on set as both intense and rewarding, especially given the trust required for some of the more intimate scenes. For the first time, she worked with an intimacy coordinator, though both she and Chalamet ultimately opted for a more organic approach, agreeing to let the coordinator “step back.”

The age difference between the two actors became a running joke during filming, with Paltrow quipping, “I’m 109. You’re 14.” Yet beneath the humour, she expressed genuine admiration for Chalamet’s dedication and artistry, viewing him as a consummate professional rather than simply a young star riding a wave of hype.
