Endgame Encore's new scenes have leaked, with Doctor Doom arriving to collect an original Avenger
Marvel shot fresh material to bridge Endgame to Doomsday, and it is already online. The TVA, Loki and Peggy Carter all turn up in it.
Marvel is going all-out this year with a one-two punch at the cinema, and let’s be honest, they’re not being subtle about it. Not only is Avengers: Doomsday on the way, with the Russo brothers bringing Robert Downey Jr. back into the fold – as Doctor Doom, not Tony Stark – but before that juggernaut drops, Marvel’s giving Avengers: Endgame another lap around the track. This time it’s called Avengers: Endgame Encore, and it’s not just a plain reissue – they’ve filmed fresh material to link it directly to Doomsday. If you’re keeping count, that makes Endgame Encore the film’s third stint on the big screen, if you include the original and the 2019 re-release.
Avengers: Endgame will return to cinemas for the first time in seven years on 25 September 2026, this time with brand new MCU scenes filmed especially to bridge it to Avengers: Doomsday.
Leaked Scenes and Spoiler Territory
Marvel, in typical Marvel fashion, tried to keep the lid on the new content, but it’s already out there ahead of the Encore release. So, heavy spoilers coming up. These extra minutes serve one central purpose: stitch Endgame’s ending to the incoming Doomsday plot – and, because this is Marvel, give us at least one dramatic Hulk moment, a set-up for more crossovers, and a bit of TVA chaos on the side.
What’s Actually New?
- Bearded Banner returns: Mark Ruffalo is back, popping up as Bruce Banner, post-Spider-Man: Brand New Day sporting a proper beard and a look that says, ‘I’ve had enough of everything’. He’s holed up in a bunker 'two miles under the surface of the Earth' after a big green slip-up that’s his ‘first incident in over a decade’. Apparently he’s trying out new ways to suppress the Hulk, with some success, before Doctor Doom — yes, Downey Jr. — teleports in, says he's 'here to collect you', and then both promptly vanish off-camera in a cloud of glowing green magic runes. Still no peace for Bruce.
- Steve and Peggy’s interrupted honeymoon: The brand-new footage picks up just as Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers and Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter share their long-awaited reunion. Peggy, busy enjoying private bliss with Steve, finds Tom Hiddleston’s Loki at the door, offering help with whatever multiverse mess is brewing. To be clear, Steve’s hiding behind a wall while Loki just strolls in like it’s the most normal thing in the world.
- Time Variance Authority all-hands: The TVA makes a scene-stealing return, packed with familiar Disney+ faces: Owen Wilson’s Mobius, Ke Huy Quan’s Ouroboros, Eugene Cordero’s Casey, and even a callback for James Dryden’s technician Ralph (last spotted pining after Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine). We get Tara Strong’s Miss Minutes announcing 'stay in your universe', while the TVA scrambles to deal with two worlds – Earth-10005 and Earth-1127 – about to launch missiles at each other. Incursions start popping up everywhere; Ouroboros just says what we’re all thinking: the multiverse is absolutely collapsing and now thousands of worlds are at risk.
- Stark to Doom: To cap it off, the post-credits tease borrows that iconic metallic clang from Iron Man’s first suit, but this time, it’s Downey Jr. apparently forging Doom’s infamous mask, before getting a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot of Doom himself. Subtlety, as ever, isn’t Marvel’s style here.
Reception So Far
Fans who’ve got an early look at the leaks are properly split. Some aren’t buying what Marvel’s selling – one called the new post-credits scenes 'mid' and another said they were 'underwhelming'. On the flip side, there are those who reckon it’s emotional therapy, or are convinced the MCU is 'back' after years off its game. One viewer heard their whole cinema clap and someone even 'audibly GASPED' at the ending. Safe to say, subtle as a frying pan – but it’s got people talking, which is probably the whole point.
Everything in these new scenes tees up even bigger multiverse carnage when Avengers: Doomsday lands in December. What else Marvel might sneak into the Encore cut remains to be seen, but you can count on more crossover cameos, multiversal havoc, and enough fan chatter to fill the TVA’s filing cabinets. In the meantime, the wait for 25 September 2026 just got that much more interesting, with Avengers: Doomsday due not long after on 18 December 2026.
