Here’s where things get a bit more interesting: the same WGA listing pops 'Paradise Lost' into the 2027-2028 television season. It’s not a rock-solid premiere date, granted – more like the first half-decent clue around when the thing might actually show up. That obviously puts it a fair way off, but at least we’re not stuck in total limbo now.

Earlier this year, wild speculation went around online claiming that 'Paradise Lost' had quietly been canned. James Gunn, who runs DC Studios these days, actually took the time in April to address these worries. His clarification, for anyone who missed it, was that the show remains in what he calls 'extreme development' — translation: it’s not dead, but not exactly tearing towards release, either.

The Premise – And Why It’s Bloody Different

As pitches go, this one’s never been your typical superhero origin story. The official logline is: 'Set in Themyscira, home of the Amazons and birthplace of Wonder Woman, this drama focuses on the genesis and political intrigue of an island of all women.' So, less about capes and lassoing baddies, more Machiavellian ‘who’s stabbing who in the back, Amazon edition’.

For those keeping score at home, it’s still the only DC Studios project remotely tied to Wonder Woman that’s been announced since the old films wrapped. No fresh solo movie for Diana is on the board — at least not yet.
