Bridgerton season 6 will be Eloise’s — a deleted TikTok from the writers’ room gave it away
Bridgerton’s writers’ room has started on season 6, centred on Eloise and Sir Phillip Crane, with Netflix eyeing a release between late 2028 and early 2029.
Right, so Bridgerton isn’t slowing down any time soon. Even before Season 5 drops, Netflix has quietly started sharing early plans for Season 6 — and, for once, it’s not just wishful thinking from the fans.
Eloise Gets Her Turn
The latest from the usually-reliable What’s on Netflix is that scripts for the new season are already underway. Word is, Eloise Bridgerton (played by Claudia Jessie) will finally be the lead — specifically, her romance with Sir Phillip Crane will take centre stage, just as those who’ve read Julia Quinn’s fifth book, ‘To Sir Phillip, With Love,’ probably guessed. The source reckons the writers’ room is now pulling that story apart and planning how to weave it into the show’s own contorted timeline. If it all goes to plan, Netflix is apparently eyeing a release window of late 2028 to early 2029, but nobody official is willing to stamp an exact date on it yet.
Writers’ assistant Fiona Kida let slip (in a now-deleted TikTok, of all places): "We’ve kicked off working on Eloise’s next season and are re-reading the books to prep and see where we left characters off."
Kida also described the process as being at the "blue sky" phase, where everyone in the room is pitching wild ideas. Apparently it’s a bit of a free-for-all right now with different assistants taking notes, tossing around storylines, and weighing what could spice things up. It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes detail they’d never deliberately reveal at a glossy press event.

Season 6 is tipped to follow Quinn’s original arc: after the death of Marina Thompson, Eloise writes struggling widower Sir Phillip Crane, sympathy turns into old-fashioned pen-pal romance, and — because this is Bridgerton, not Jane Austen — she sneaks off for a midnight carriage ride to finally meet him… only to find he’s neither a dashing prince nor particularly charming. He’s got two unruly children and, as described in the book, a bit of a moody streak. It’s a recipe for fireworks, which should give Jessie plenty to do if the scripts stick to the source material.

All that said, nobody knows yet if Chris Fulton (who played Crane briefly in seasons one and two) is even coming back. Netflix is keeping its usual poker face on the big returning cast announcements.
Season 6 could land anywhere from the end of 2028 to the start of 2029.
Meanwhile, in Season 5
If you’re still catching up, Claudia Jessie does appear in the upcoming Season 5, though Eloise takes more of a supporting role there. That one has Francesca Bridgerton and Michaela Stirling at the centre of the action, and drops on Netflix in 2027. For anyone keeping score, there’s a proper traffic jam brewing on this show’s timeline, but good luck finding anyone at Netflix who seems stressed about pacing.
