Bloodhounds season 2 ending explained: does Baek-jeong die?
The second season of the Korean action series Bloodhounds landed on Netflix in April 2026, and the finale packed quite a punch — both literally and narratively.

The short answer
No, Baek-jeong does not die. His death is staged. By the end of the season, he is alive and secretly working as an informant for South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS).
How we get there
The season centres on Im Baek-jeong (Rain), a former professional boxer expelled from the sport for assaulting his coach. He now runs the IKFC — an illegal underground fight club streamed on the dark web and funded through cryptocurrency. Baek-jeong becomes obsessed with getting Kim Gun-woo (Woo Do-hwan) into the ring. When Gun-woo refuses, Baek-jeong escalates: threats, intimidation, and eventually kidnapping Gun-woo's mother.
The finale builds to a brutal showdown. Gun-woo fights Baek-jeong in an abandoned building whilst Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi) and their allies work to rescue Gun-woo's mother. Baek-jeong dominates early, but Gun-woo eventually abandons his disciplined boxing technique and fights with raw ferocity — matching Baek-jeong's savagery. Gun-woo wins.
The twist
After his defeat, Baek-jeong is arrested and put in a police transport. But the convoy is intercepted by NIS agents — including a brief cameo by Park Seo-joon. The agents stage an execution: a cosmetics expert fakes the wounds, a photograph of "dead" Baek-jeong is sent to crime boss Hong Min-beom, and everyone believes the villain is gone for good.
In the post-credits scene, we learn the truth. The NIS offers Baek-jeong a deal: reveal his contact in a Bangkok-based drug trafficking operation, or face actual death. Baek-jeong cooperates. He becomes, in the show's own terminology, a "bloodhound" — not a fighter in an underground ring, but a tool used by intelligence services to track larger criminal networks.
What this means for season 3
The ending clearly sets up a continuation. Gun-woo and Woo-jin discuss getting stronger and taking on bigger threats. Baek-jeong is alive, compromised, and embedded in an international crime operation. A third season hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but the groundwork is firmly in place.
