A24’s Marty Supreme Secures HBO Max Streaming After Box Office Triumph

Having overtaken One Battle After Another in domestic takings, Marty Supreme is rapidly establishing itself as one of A24’s most successful releases to date. Riding this wave, the studio has opted to extend its streaming arrangement with HBO Max, a deal that originally began in 2023 following the end of A24’s previous collaboration with Showtime. This move has given HBO Max subscribers access to a much-praised catalogue, which has, in turn, bolstered the platform’s audience figures.

With the Oscars looming, A24 appears in no rush to announce a streaming date, particularly given the attention surrounding both the film and its lead, Timothée Chalamet. Fresh from a Golden Globe win for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical, Chalamet and the production are widely tipped for further recognition at the Academy Awards.

Oscar season has a habit of boosting digital sales, as last year’s Anora demonstrated. Marty Supreme is expected to benefit from similar momentum once it lands on digital platforms.
