About Craig Ellison

Craig Ellison has been writing about entertainment for nearly a decade — from college newspapers to major film publications. His work focuses on adult animation (Futurama, Solar Opposites), video game adaptations (Castlevania: Nocturne), dark fantasy (Jujutsu Kaisen, Daemons of the Shadow Realm), and horror (Mike Flanagan, John Carpenter's The Thing, and anything A24 touches).

Before shifting fully into entertainment, Craig spent over six years as a baseball writer, publishing weekly articles across multiple outlets. That sports background gave him an unusual but useful skill: he treats streaming rankings, IMDb scores, and release schedules like a box score — with healthy skepticism and a soft spot for the underdog.

Craig got his start in student journalism at Illinois Valley Community College (writing for The IV Leader) before transferring to Eureka College on the Stephen W. Rigazio scholarship. At Eureka, he wrote for The Pegasus, covering everything from campus happenings to politics — including the 2020 election and Palestine. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's in Communication.

What he's watching right now

  • Only Murders in the Building
  • What We Do in the Shadows

  • The Thing (John Carpenter)
  • Sinister

Why trust his reviews: Craig watches everything he covers. No second-hand takes. No fluff. Just honest opinions from someone who has spent nearly a decade writing professionally about film, TV, and animation.

Craig writes for CineCorner independently. All views are his own.
